PTI September Blog Hop

I don't know about you, but when I can make a card for a specific reason, it comes together much better.  My card today (inspired by the PTI blog hop photo below), will go to my amazing stepdaughter.  She is an artist in her own right.  Her profession is graphic design, but she also takes the most interesting, story telling photos.  Yesterday, she had her first showing of photography in an art gallery in Chicago.  As of this morning, two of them were sold and one was pending!  It makes me SO happy for her.  She is definately going in the direction of her dreams.  I will be sending this off to her tomorrow...
My inspiration came mostly from the colors of the photo, but I also used some strips of patterened papers to push that more.  The papers are all from Lily Bee's This & That collection.  The sentiment is from Verve.  The Card base is Rustic White from PTI, and I used both Mat Stack 1 and 2 dies.  A Pure Poppy button with some lemon Baker's twine finish it off.  This is the interesting photo that inspired my card:

SSD94 Halloween for Brooklyn

Good morning!  When I went to Indiana last weekend, I made a little sidetrip to Archievers....  I found these cute little 3-D stickers with matching paper from Doodlebug.  Well, I'm not a big fan of spooky, scary Halloween cards for my little grandkids, so these were perfect!  (I've learned to put their name in my card title, so I can remember next year what I made and don't repeat, old age!)  I went with Amy's fun sketch for Skipping Stone's Design this week, it worked perfectly for this little bug!  I used my MFT star dies, and added some purple bling from i-roc (looks black, but it's not).  I'll usually tuck in some money for them, since that can't come to my house for the treat!

A CAS of Moe...

When I learned this month's challenge was to Case-a-Diva, I knew right away I was going to Maureen Plut's blog, to case this fabulous card...
My nephew is getting married in early October, and I knew this would be a wonderful wedding card for him.  I had to leave the beautiful dove off, which is so cool, and I didn't have any pins, so I just made my bow a little bigger and added some extra pearls.  My frame is from a set from Stampin-Up, as well as the sentiment. Hope they like it, as much as I loved Maureen's creation...

My background papers are from Basic Grey's Cappella, and the ribbon is silk.
Thank you for stopping by!  And thank you Moe, for your wonderful inspiration!

Fall Harvest Berries Set

I can not tell you how much I am enjoying my new Harvest Berries stamps and dies!  Over the weekend, I cut and stamped a bunch of the wonderful ginkgo leaves, and was able to quickly put this set of cards together, using some retired Stampin Up designer papers.  The flowers were cut out with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, and the centers are brads from SU.  The sentiments are all from Botanical Silhouettes.  Thanks for stopping by...!

Harvest Berries ~ Love these leaves!

My first project with my new Harvest Berries stamps and dies.  Agghhh!!  Love them!  I'm glad I took a quick snapshot before I went to church this morning, as a good friend took it home with her.  (I use my cards to help support the missionaries from our class)  I think these will be a wonderful addition to my crafting things.  The flower is a Tim Holtz die called Tattered Flowers, and the background papers were part of our gift from PTI at July's Stamp-a-Faire.  Now I'm off to make some more ginkgo leaves........ :-)

Make it Monday Fall Birthday

I have FIVE family masculine birthday cards to make in the Fall!  We all know those take a little more thought, no bows, no ruffles, ....  Well, I use a lot of leaves, trees, and yummy fall colors to fill the bill.  I decided to make another MIM card this week, as I loved the idea of creating backgrounds with a single repeated stamp.  The demo was so helpful to me, knowing how to start off and fill in to give a more uniformed look.  (thank you Dawn!)  For this card, I used a leave from a SU set called French Foliage.  The main image is one of my fav's from PTI, a Wreath for all Seasons.  It's put on a Spring Moss card base, and the leave was stamped with River Rock SU ink.  I used Labels One nesties, with Early Expresso and Really Rust inks for the wreath.  Just a single antique brad to finish off this more masculine card. Hmmm, which son, brother in law, etc... to send it to??

One of my favorite designers is Amy Sheffer. She is hosting the sketches this month at Skipping Stones Designs. I used her first fabulous sketch to make this Fall card. I'm ready for fresh apple season, just around the corner!  This has a Cajun Craze base, with papers from Imagenice called Apple Cider.  The image was cut with a Labels One Nestabilities, and the sentiment with the Charming Oval dies from Verve.  Thanks for looking, and thanks Amy for how you continue to inspire me!

Make it Monday Butterfly Background

I wish I could have every Monday off!  Today I'm spending time at my stamp table, and enjoying challenges on the day they're given!  This is for this week's Make it Monday from Papertrey Ink, to use a stamp to make a background, using a stamp that wasn't really created for a background.  I chose the butterfly from Happy Trails for this one.  Then, I cut out three butterflies from a Basic Grey paper pack calle Marrakeck.  The sentiment was put on layered dies from Verve.  What a fun challenge!

MIM Penciled Shores

Well, this week's Make it Monday was a real challenge for me!  I love my copics, and I love to watercolor.  Pencils?  Another thing...  This ended up a little differently than I planned, but it was fun to try something I hadn't done for ages.  I ended up sponging the edges of the image while the nestie was still in place, just to soften the look.  Papers are from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey, and the sides are stamped in versamark with the gingham basics stamps.  The base of the card and ribbon are New Leaf, and the buckle and image are from Stampin Up.
