MIM #42 - Layered Sentiment Background

This week's Make it Monday by Betsy was very inspiring!  I was able to do some stamping this afternoon, and here are the results:

I started with lines of Music on Ivory cardstock.  Then, I added several sentiments from Richly Blessed, a Verve Christmas set from last year.  I used three different shades of distress ink, making the main sentiment in the darkest color.  Then I tore the edges, and used Betsy's technique on the edges.  The cross was made with Spring Moss ink and button, and the top has some rustic twine. It was all placed on Spring Moss cardstock.  I like the finished look - thank you Betsy!

Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop

Hope everyong had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Ours was quiet, with just my husband and me, but it was great.  We will have leftovers for a month!  :-)   I did have some time to stamp in between preparations, and was able to create this card for the November PTI Blog Hop.

I pulled the plaid from the gingham pillows, and used the beautiful poinsettia dies with Pure Poppy.  The ribbon and leaves were made with New Leaf.  I added some white pearls with my Viva Pearl Pen (I love it, it's so easy!).  The sentiment is from Verve's Bright Spirits.  Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of the hop!

MIM in Gliter

For this week's Make it Monday, we had to get out our glitter. It's all over my table now (and me!), but it was fun!  I started with some Royal Velvet and Ocean Tides cardstock ~ what a pretty combination it is in real life (had trouble getting a good picture today...)  I used my Music Notes background on the Ocean Tides layer.  Then I cut a strip with my Half & Half die, and used my glue pad to ink up the striped patteren.  I love this glitter from Martha Stewart, it has to be my favorite color!  Next up, the Mat Stack 1.  Finally, I used some Ocean Tides ink for the sentiment, and took the little snow Flourish from Tag It's 8 as an accent.
All my edges were inked with Fresh Snow. A few purple rhinestones on the sentiment panel finishes this card.  Inside it says "the best year ever".  I think it'll go to our good friends on New Years.  Thanks for a fun challenge Jennifer!

MIM#40 - For Regina

I wnted to try a second technique that Heather showed on her Make it Monday video.  This card uses faux stitching, done with paper piercing and a white gel pen.  I used the Flower Fusion #6 die, the leaves from Simple Sunflower, and scraps of paper from Basic Grey's Green at Heart collection.  I also sewed my buttons on, something Heather showed us as well.
The card base is actually Autumn Rose, but it sure looks purple here!  The next panel is textured white and then a layer of Kraft that was stamped with small dots in Versamark.  I will be sending this to a fellow stamper's Mom.  (Thanks for letting us know Cindy!)

MIM #40 - Reverse Applique

This is my entry for Make it Monday #40, Reverse Applique.  I used my Harvest Berries stamps and dies.  The print papers, are from one of the paper packs we received at Stamp-a-Faire!  The smaller print is underneath, and I used the larger print to cut out GRATITUDE.  A little bit of Terracotta Tile twill and a Ripe Avocado button make up the sentiment .  The berries were glued on one at a time....they are tiny,  but helped as a finishing touch.  Thanks for stopping by....

MOJO214 Baby Card

Have you all been seeing the fabulous new Verve stamps coming our way?  I'm really excited about all the sneak peeks!  This evening I was able to pull out some of my favorite verve sets, and put together a card using this weeks MOJO sketch.  I needed a baby card in my stash, and wanted to do something a little different.  I chose to use some Basic Grey Marjoline papers, in grays and apple green. My little elephant is colored with Copics, and I used a mix of gray and greens for him.
Several different Verve sets were used, including To The Moon and Small Phrases. The panel was made with PTI's Half & Half die. I think I'm going to use this sketch for another card, I have lots of ideas ~and it's Mojo Monday prize week!  Thanks for coming by!

Poinsettia & Plaid

Good Morning!  I had time to get stampy last night while my husband was at a meeting.  I had this poinsettia made, and decided to put it to use.  I found a scrap of Jovial plaid paper left from last year (one of my favorites) and liked how the deeper reds looked together.  I added a little strip of sheer gold ribbon, and stamped one of the sentiments in black.  The center of the poinsettia was made using a glue dot and pressing some gold microbeads into it.  Love how that turned out!

Hope you all have a happy stamping day...!

MIM Stamped Backgrounds again!

When I got up this morning, I had some supplies on my craft table, and had to do another stamped background.  Using the same color scheme as yesterday (love it), I put together a card to send to my Aunt.  She's moving into assisted living this weekend after suffering a fall.  A little bit of an adjustment, so I just wanted to send some encouragement to her. Have a Happy Stamping day..!

MIM Snowflake Background

Had some fun stamping this afternoon, and got a chance to make a couple of cards using this weeks Make it Monday technique.  Nicole showed us how she uses stamps to create backgrounds.  This first card uses the Tag It's #8 snowflakes.  The largest snowflake was stamped in Versamark, and then embossed using some Stardust embossing powder.  Then the smaller ones were stamped, using Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist, and Spring Moss.  I used some Ocean Tides Ribbon with a little twine in the corner. A little line of icicle stickles are on the back snow drift.  The horse and sleigh are stamped in Spring Moss.

The second card today, is for a sweet friend going through a rough time.  I pulled out some new Autunm Rose products as my starting point.  I love the Harvest Berries set, so it I used that to create the background.  The larger stems were stamped in Old Olive, and the smaller in Spring Moss.  I tested out the different pink inks I have, and found that Melon Mambo worked pretty well, so that was used for the triple dots.  The single dots are in Purely Pomegranite.  The sentiment used stamps from Mat Stack 2.  I finished it all with the pretty small dotted ribbon in Autunm Rose.
It was a lot of fun to use this technique of making your own background.  I know I'll give this a try again!  Thanks for looking ~ Happy Stamping....!
