Coffee, Coffee, Coffee

Using Tosh's fabulous VLV sketch and this week's Inspiration Challenge on SCS, I made this little coffee card. (Anyone remember Lauralee Gilmore saying "Coffee, coffee, coffee"?? I loved that show...)   The coffee cup was watercolored, then I used Crystal Effects to make it look like china.  Hope everyone is getting in some stamping fun over this Holiday weekend!

Great tutorial from PTI this week, on creating simple, yet elegant Sympathy cards.  I gave it a try with some the stamp images I have.  It's pretty close to the demo, but I know I will try to do this again!

Supplies:  Lemon Tart, Ocean Tides and White cardstock, Mat Stack 2 die and stamp, Stampendous Flower Stamp, Lemon Tart Ribbon, and Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Die.

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge

Tulips are one of my favorite flowers, so when I saw this beautiful image from Papertrey Ink, it immediately went on my wish list.  I also love to watercolor, and the image fits into their Friendship Jar that I own, so two more reasons to purchase...!  The only sad part of Tulips, is that they are gone so quickly.  This is my first PTI Blog Hop participation, so I hope you all like it!  Thanks for looking!

Supplies used:  SU  Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze, and Watercolor paper, Basic Grey Sweet Threads DP, Black Stazon ink, Ribbon and Sweet Threads Brad.  Watercolored with SU ink.

VLVMAY2011 Week 4...

Got my week four sketch done tonight for Viva la Verve!  I sold my last wedding card over the weekend, so I needed to add one to my stash.  I made three roses from my MFT mini rolled roses die, a first for me.  I will need to practice some more, but I do like how they look on this card.  The background is an older SU stamp called Fine Lace.  The next layer is embossed in white on Sahara Sand, and framed with some textured white cardstock.  I sponged the edges of the photo corners, just to soften them.  I used my Bow Easy to make the double looped bow.

Rainfall Flopsey!

One of my new stamps has been calling my name..  This little "Flopsey" stamp is from My Favorite Things.  I chose to use Copics, but paper pieced the umbrella and boots with Hello Lucious papers.  Pretty clean and simple for me today.  Sure was a fun one to make!

Law School Survival

I had a friend at church ask for a card to send to her cousin, who just finished her first year of Law School. I thought I'd make this little guy with the great sentiment from Dr. Suess. I paired it up with some Bo Bunny papers that have a Law School feel to them. Image was colored with Copics, edges were distressed and sponged with Antique Linen distress ink.  The bike is colored with a spica blue glitter pen, so it sparkles, and the window of the backpack has glossy accents for a little shine!  Fun card to make, TFL!

Friendship Jar Thanks!

I made this card for my sweet friend that brought me a outdoor pot filled with flowers yesterday.  She has a beautiful yard full of fabulous blooms.  I, on the other hand, can't grow a thing.  Just ask my husband...LOL!  The stamps are from Papertrey Ink (Friendship Jar) and the papers are from Stella & Rose (Hattie).  I hope she likes it, cause I sure love my new garden!

Two Challenge Cards to Share!

I celebrated my birthday this past week, and so I used this afternoon to make a couple of Thank You cards.  I love Verve's set called "Thankful Accents" for thank you notes.  It is so pretty and there are a variety of Thank You sentiments.  So I pulled it out for both my cards.  I also took advantage of some sketch challenges, the Viva la Verve Friday sketch this week (by the wonderful Amy Sheffer), and Jen Del Muro's Sketch for you to try for May.  They went so fast with the help of sketches and a colorful inspiration site today from SCS.
Thanks for looking!   Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

MOJO Color Challenge

I was excited to make a card with this weeks color challenge on Splitcoaststampers, of Blushing Bride, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron.  The new Sweet Threads paper pack from Basic Grey had them all.  I love these, they are really soft and pretty.  I used the MOJO Monday sketch and it came together pretty quickly.  The flower was cut with a Tim Holtz die and then sponged with Tea Dye distress ink.  The leaves are a Stampin Up sizzlets die.  The scripture is a stamp from Verve, and the buttons are from Papertrey Ink

Time Out

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!  Mine was quiet, but last weekend was spent with my three children and four grandchildren, so I have no complaints!   I spent the afternoon at my craft table, finishing some projects, including this one.  I love Mo Manning's artwork, she is so talented.  This image of hers is from Stamping Bella. She is colored with Copics and the inside of the card says "sometimes we all need a little time out".  (so true!)  The card base was embossed with the Tulip frame from Stampin Up, and white craft ink was used to highlight the raised areas.  Thanks for looking and have a wonderful week...!

Share some Chocolate!

Good Morning!  And hooray for Friday!  Hope you all have a special weekend planned for your Mom, or if she's gone like mine, will remember how wonderful she was and how much you miss her.  I have a fun little card today, using the Eat Chocolate set from Stampin Up.  I used the MOJO sketch for this week, as well as the Color and Ways to Use it challenges on Splitcoaststampers.  Hope you can see the stickles for the icing on the cupcakes, as well as the little chocolate pearls tucked into the ribbon, for that little bit of sparkle.  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Spring Diva Challenge

The Diva girls at Verve challenged us to make a card with a theme of "April Showers Bring May Flowers" this month.  For my entry,  I used a Stampin Up set called Sweet Summer for my card.  It's full of flower building elements, including the little bees and butterflies.  I love when the flowers start blooming, even though my allergies don't!  The card base is Ballet Blue, and the main image was watercolored with an Aquapainter and the lids of SU ink.  I added some liquid pearls to the flowers, and the bees and butterflies have a little sparkle from Spica glitter pens.  I used a piercing tool around the edge of the largest nestabilities edge.  Ribbon is from Stampin Up.  Thanks for looking and have a great day!

girlfriends....!

I got this super cute stamp from Archievers over the weekend.  It's from Stamping Bella, which they are carrying now!  The image is from Mo Manning, whose art is so fabulous.  I've colored it with Copics and the background paper is from the Sweet Threads tablet (Basic Grey).  Cardstock and ribbon are Lemon Tart, from Papertrey Ink.

Awesome Mommy!

Just got home from a wonderful trip to Indianapolis to visit my children and grandchildren.  It was a fabulous visit, including a trip to Archievers!  I picked up this new paper pack called Sweet Threads, and used some of it to make a card for a 15th month old son to give to his Mom for Mother's Day.  I used the little elephant from "To the Moon", and have him hanging over the Classy Label die panel (both from Verve).  The base of the card is Barely Banana, and the edges were distressed and sponged with Vintage Photo ink from Tim Holtz.  There is a matching glazed brad on the top of the ribbon.  Sketch is from Amber Hight, this week's Viva la Verve sketch.
