Brooklyn Wishes

Second post today!  Here is my card for my other granddaughter Brooklyn.  She is going to be two, and cute as a button.  This time I chose to use the VLV August week 1 sketch.  I tweaked it a little bit, cause I'm not a fan of making square cards...  Her little dress is paper pieced and her tights are glittered with a Spica Glitter pen.  Thanks for looking!

Addison's Wish

Happy Saturday everyone!  I wanted to post this up before I took off for work this morning.  I'm blessed with two beautiful granddaughter's, that both have birthday's in August.  I purchased this cute MFT stamp way back in February to make cards for them.  This first one will be for Addison, who will be turning 6, and heading off to kindergarten!  She has blonde hair, so of course, this little fairy needed to be blonde...  I used Jen Del Muro's July SFYTT, and finally had some success with the MFT rolled roses die.  Did you know they have a wonderful tutorial on their blog on making these?  Duh, should have watched it a long time ago...!

Happy Anniversary Dad & Lori!

I needed to put a card together for my Dad's second wedding anniversary this morning, and today's sketch on SCS worked perfectly.  I wanted to use this new set I received Saturday at PTI's Stamp-a-Faire called Iconic Images.  I just love this little pitcher with the flowers.  I stamped the blossoms twice to get the shaded look.   I found this pretty paper in my stash from October Afternoon, and the scallopped circle was in a scrap pile, some discontinued SU paper.  Thanks for looking, hope you all have a happy day!

PTI July 2011 Blog Hop

Hello everyone!  Happy Monday!  After spending Saturday in Cincinnati for Stamp-a-Faire, I could hardly wait to get stamping.  It was so ispiring!!  The challenge for July was based on a beautiful photo found here: http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef015433fbfd54970c-pi

I chose to work with the color and texture of the photo, using Terracotta Tile, Kraft, and Ocean Tides.  This will be for an Uncle that is turning 90 in August, so I wanted to keep it on the masculine side.  I used my new Half & Half set and die (love them), and found a button to match in the bag we received at the event.  Looking forward to making more with purchases made over the weekend...  Thanks for stopping by!

Moe & Me!

Can you believe it??  That is the wonderful Verve Diva Maureen Plut and me!  We met Saturday at the PTI Stamp-a-Faire in Cincinnati, Ohio.  It was a fantastic day of stamping, and making new friends from all over the US and several other countries. (Moe is from Canada).  I was lucky enough to attend with 5 other friends from my Stamping Club in Lexington, KY.  During the day we were able to meet 6 of the designers from Papertrey Ink, and of course, I spent way too much.  But it was a chance of a lifetime and it lived up to all my expectations.  Meeting Moe was one of the nicest highlights.  I'm looking forward to playing with all the new goodies over the next couple of days, so I'll be back with more!  :-)

Best Bots X Two

Today on Splitcoaststampers, we were challenged to make a card with "TWO".  I chose to make this little girly robot card, using  Best Bots Forever by Stamping Up.  The image was watercolored with Markers (SU), and edged with some Pumice Stone distress ink (Tim Holtz).   A little Basic Grey Kioshi papers for my background finished this quick card off.

Heading to Cincinnati in the morning for a fun day at PTI's Stamp-a-Faire...can't wait!!    You have a great weekend too.....

MOJO 200 and a Diva Challenge!

Mojo Monday celebrates their 200th sketch this week!  Congratulations to Julee, her sketches are always wonderful ~ my favorite sketches to try!  I've also tried to meet the Diva July Challenge ~ Sentimental About Paper.  I chose these gorgeous papers from Stella and Rose/Hattie.  The flower has three different patterns, as well as the background, leaves and sentiment panel.  They are all on a card base of Blue Bayou, and I found I had a little bit of Blue Bayou ribbon left in my stash!  Thanks for taking a look and have a great day!

Paper Smooches Doll

I sent this little Paper Smooches card to my daughter, that has been to Russia twice on mission trips.  She said it was the best card I ever sent her, and she loved it!  I was lucky enough to win this darling set, and as soon as I saw the little Marushka Doll, I knew she would get the first card made with it.  Papers are from Basic Grey. Her dress is paper pieced, and her face was stamped and colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from Verve.  TFL!

MOJO in the Tub...

Both my sister and sister-in-law have birthdays this month.  I love them both so much, and we are all enjoying growing older, even if it means "another gray hare in the tub"!  This card will join another one I made using this fun Whippersnapper stamp with that hilarous sentiment. (one for each of them...)  I used some funky colors for this one (Basic Grey's Sweet Threads) and this week's MOJO Monday sketch.  I colored my image with Copics, and used my Clear Spica glitter pen on the bubbles.   I added stitching on all my panels and the ribbon too.  It just made the design show better with all the patterned papers.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, hope you have a good one!

Make it Monday Melons!

Happy 4th of July!  What's the 4th without Watermelons??  After seeing today's Make it Monday video, I knew where my card was going.  Betsy Veldman showed us how to stamp a background using foam and reinkers.  I only own two green reinkers, so I selected a viney looking stamp for a border, using both Mellow Moss and Sage Shadow.  I still had plenty of ink to stamp a corner of the envelope!  I used Ocean Tides and Berry Sorbet to make my melons (yum, I think I need some now!) and used various buttons on the MFT open scallop die.  You should see the foam I scrounged around for ~ it was the back of an old, old free foam stamp that I have never used!  Mother is the neccesity of invention maybe?  Have a great day everyone & thanks for looking!

Make it Monday Polaroid Posies!

I was inspired this week to try a technique from Nicole Heady that she calls Polaroid 2-step masking.  It was a lot a fun, and I used my i-pad and followed right along as she gave wonderful instructions.  I chose to put my focal image on a piece of Sahara Sand for a soft look.  I used Berry Sorbet, New Leaf, and Cherry Cobbler (SU) to make my flowers, using the Botonical Silhouttes Anniversary Set.  The card base was stamped with a Fine Lace background with Sahara Sand ink.  Then I mounted the image on a piece of Berry Sorbet and added a touch of ribbon on the side.  The sentiment is from the Mat Stack II collection.  It was fun to play, and I will try this again!

Mo's WaCCCky Color Challenge

Happy Friday!  I'm so excited, cause I have Monday off.  I think it will be a "stampy" kind of day...  My cyberspace friend, Maureen from Buttons & Bling, hosts this WaCCky Color Challenge.  She picks four Papertrey Ink colors from a hat, and those are what you use to make your card.  I thought this looked SO fun, I asked if I could play. (Even though I'm an American girl, and this is a Canadian game...)  She said it was okay, so here you go~  The colors are so fun and bright, and I love how they played out on paper.  Guess what?  I get to meet her at the end of the month, when we are both attending PTI's Stamp-a-Faire.  Isn't that neat?  Thanks for stopping by, and thanks to Mo for letting me join the fun!!
