Poinsettia Time

Starting to roll out the Christmas cards.  I made this using the VLV October week 5 sketch.  Really enjoying the poinsettia stamp and die.  It's stamped in two different reds (Cherry Cobbler and Pure Poppy) and that gives it even more dimension.  The sentiment was cut out with my Creative Memories oval cutters, still a favorite tool of mine!  The papers are all from Basic Grey.

 Have a great day!

MIM Dashing!

Another card using Betsy Veldman's tutorial for Make it Monday!  I created the back layer in two different styles.  The whole panel was embossed with the snowflake folder.  Then, the top half was brayered with blue ink and the bottom half with Martha Stewart's glue pad, then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds.  It looks so cool in real life!  The panel is a piece of Spring Rain, and the tree paper is from Basic Grey's Nordic Holiday.  I'm enjoying this new technique a lot!  Happy Stamping all....!

MIM Poinsettia

Ooo!  I was so excited for this weeks Make it Monday.  Believe it or not, I had made this embossed panel when I was at Stamp-a-Faire!  A friend had brought the embossing folder to share, and I had made about 5 of them, and they hadn't been touched since.  So when I saw Betsy's tutorial, I thought, hmmm, I wonder how that would work with white craft ink.  Well, I loved the result!  In real life, it looks so frosty, just like a cold morning.  And, I got to use my brand new poinsettia dies and stamps.  Double fun!  I pulled out my little labels set, and one of the sentiments fit perfectly.  Man, it was a fun, successful stamping time!  Love when that happens....
Have a great, creative day!

PTI October Blog Hop ~ Color and Pattern

Good morning!  Today is PTI's Blog Hop and this is what I came up with...
I went for the colors and patterns from the inspiration photo.  The blooms (Flower Fusion #6) remind me of Mums, which are all over the place right now.  I used a rock and roll technique for them, using Really Rust and Cajun Craze inks.  They were stamped directly onto the PTI cardstock. The grass is an older print paper that was torn, and the edges were inked with the stem and leave color (Old Olive).  Some Kaisercraft olive rhinestones were added to the centers. I stamped the sentiment right onto theTerracotta Tile twill. (say that fast for fun...)  A little antique brad and I've got a quick fall birthday card.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

More MIM...

I was doing a little stamping this afternoon, and decided to make another Make it Monday card.  I loved this weeks technique and thought it was a good way to make a quick card with my new favorite papers from Basic Grey ~ Out of Print.
I've used the Mat Stack 2, with a circle cut out, and used a corner scrap in the upper left.  A little rustic white twine and a button...done!  The sentiment is from Blooming Button Bits.

MIM Layered Mats and Frames

On this week's PTI Make it Monday, Dawn showed us how to use our dies in a new way.  This is what I came up with.  I've used the Mat Stack 1 and a circle to frame out one of the sentiments from Half & Half.  The flowers are from Verve and the papers are from Lily Bee's This & That collection.

Boo Boo Bear

Good morning!  I had a little time to stamp last night, and was excited to pull out this Whippersnapper stamp I picked up in Indianapolis on a recent visit.  The bad news is, I need to send it right out, to a sweet friend from my Bible Study, that broke her tibia (sp?)....  She's getting along in a wheelchair, but still, a long recovery!  Hope this cute little guy will help cheer her up!
The papers are from Lily Bee, and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.  Thanks for coming by...!

The Twins Birthday

So, here I am with two swimming cards!  My twin BIL's have birthdays coming up.  Since they were swimmers in their youth (as well as my husband and their dad) I thought Swimsuit Stanley from Whippersnapper would work!  The inside of the cards has a Verve sentiment that says "you're never TOO OLD to set a new goal, or dream a new dream".  LOL, I'm thinking 2012 Olympics for these 57 year olds...

MIM Watercolored Gingko Leaves

Watercoloring is one of my favorite techniques in cardmaking.  This week on Make it Monday, we were shown a little twist!  Stamping in the color, then softening it with an aquapainter.  I chose to do this with the Harvest Berries set.  It was really fun to do, and I will use this idea again!  (no need to pull out the Stazon ink for this!)  Thanks for looking!

Birthday Sunflowers

Love my new sunflower die!  I was able to make this in layers, so there is a lot of dimension.  The flowers were cut from rustic white and stamped with daffodil.  The centers were cut from daffodil, and stamped with chocolate.  The leaves were made with Spellbinders Foliage in Old Olive.  The card basewas stamped in polka dots with chocolate.  Now I'm off to stamp a little more....  :-)

Happy Birthday to my Steve!

My middle son will be celebrating his birthday next Monday, so I'll need to get this in the mail in the morning,  I was able to get some stamping time today!  After being gone on vacation last week, I was happy to stamp again.  I missed the Mojo Monday sketch last week, but this week's sketch was a great one.  I changed one of the shapes to a circle, I think it looks like a big golf ball...lol.

MIM Christmas Cookie Jar

Today I'm posting my first chipboard card...but wait, it's not really chipboard!  This week for Make it Monday, we were shown how to make our own chipboard from Papertrey dies.  I'm using the friendship jar with holiday fillers for Christmas this year, so I tried the technique here:
First I colored my stamped jar with copic markers.  Then I cut out three more die pieces and glued them together, adding the colored piece on the top.  The papers are all from Basic Grey's Nordic Holiday.  The sprinkles have clear spica glitter pen on them, and the sentiment is Fresh Snow, embossed with white EP.  This was really easy to do, and look forward to trying it out again!
