She's Having a Baby!

This afternoon I wanted to make a card for a sweet girl I know, that is expecting her first baby!  Hilary used to stamp with us, but her life has been busy going to grad school, and now she will add a little one to her schedule.  Anyway, I'm really excited for her and hope all goes well.  My card was made with Verve's adorable set called "To The Moon".  The little animals were stamped, colored with copics and then cut by hand.  It's hard to tell, but I used some white craft ink to stamp a gingham pattern on the yellow and a polka dot pattern on the aqua.

The sentiment is a Plain Jane stamp from Verve as well.  This was so much fun to make, I can't wait to send it off to her!!   Thanks for stopping by ~ hope you've had a wonderful day!

PTI February Blog Hop

I was lucky enough to receive my new Papertrey Ink order this week.  I was pretty excited to try out the new zipper die, as the challenge for today was to make an interactive card.  I've never seen anything like it!  This card was SO FUN to make!  I was inspired by some pottery I found on today's SCS inspiration site so I pinned it and used it for this card.  I've also used the new Pretty Peonies set.  It's marvelous, and I know I will use it all the time.  Too bad work gets in the way of my stamping time.....!  Here is my card:

And I snapped a picture of the inside before I stuck it down...

See the little smudge in the corner?  All covered up with the top layer!  :-)  One of the other things I like about this card is that it's flat and won't require extra postage.  I still think it packs a punch with the fun colors.  Thanks for stopping by ~ Happy Stamping Everyone!

Glittered Buttons!

This week on Make it Monday, Ashley showed us different ways to add glitter to our buttons for a different look on our projects.  This morning, I sat down to play around with the new Butterfly set from Maile Belles (I just ♥♥♥♥ it!!)  So I turned the little thank you note sent with my order over, and started stamping in these pretty colors.  All of a sudden, I had a fun little card, and my glittered button was the perfect touch!

I love the sentiments with this wonderful set too!  The colors are Razzberry Fizz, Berry Sorbet, Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores.  I need to work on the glitter thing.  I may have ended up with more on me than on the button!...LOL.  Have a great day!

MOJO Monday 229

Just a quick little card today, using the great sketch from Mojo Monday this week.  I was given some Mellow Moss card stock and it was laying on my table so I started with that.  It gave me an opportunity to use up some scraps from a print pack.  Then I started pulling out different pieces of card stock for a complimentary color.  This piece of Blue Bayou looked kind of neat, so I went with it! It was embossed with a CB folder for some texture. The sentiment is from Verve and I put it on a stamped piece of white card stock. After tying my ribbon, I looked for an embellishment, and landed on the bling from Zva Creative.  A little more that I usually do, but I think it works.

Thanks for taking a peek...!

Coasters #2

When I inked up my coaster today for Make it Monday, I decided to do too, just in case I had time to play again!.  This one was embossed with a Spellbinders plate, then cut with Mat Stack 1.  I think it's my favorite in the Mat Stack line, and I could use it on just about every card!  I layered it with a circle stamped with Tag It's, and then another layer using Little Labels.

Here is a close up so you can se the embossing:

The seam binding is Alway's Artichoke from Stampin Up.  I love how it gathers.  i used thee little Kaisercraft rhinestones to accent the sentiment.  Thanks for looking!

Make it Monday ~ Coasters

This week we were challenged to use our coasters!  Now, I had never used the coasters that were in my goodie bag from Stamp-a-Faire, so I was more than happy to pull them out!  I have to honestly say, I didn't know what they were for. Yikes!  Thank you so much Jennifer, for giving us some inspiration this week!   I used an old SU reinker called Sage Shadow, and a sponge paint brush to add my color.  I then used my Quartrefoil Die as an impression plate, and cut out the Delicate Doily.  It was a little tricky punching out the holes, but I was happy with the end result!  The background papers are from SU, and they were put onto an Ocean Tides cardstock base.  The letters were cut out with the alphabet lower case letters, and the stars are from MFT.  The sentiment is from Script Sentiments.

And here is a close up so you can see the embossing under the stars..

Happy Stamping all...!

Butterflies & Leaves

Today we were challenged to make a card with Butterflies and Leaves for Papertrey Ink's Anniversary Celebration.   I used the Blooming Button Bits set, with some Martha Steward butterflies. The sentiment is from Healing Touch sentiments.  What a great set...

I was able to make this after dinner, and now I'm off to bed...  Short post tonight, it's harder to make cards after a full day of work!  I can't wait to see all the February release.....

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Heart

Today's celebration is full of hearts for Valentine's Day ~ just around the corner!  When I met my husband, we were living in different cities.  If you knew him, you'd know how much he loves nuts!  So our first Valentine's Day, I purchased a special box of gourmet mixed nuts, and told him that every time he ate one (while I was miles away) he would think "I'm nuts about Luanne".  Corny, I know, but since that day 13 years ago, I've always given him a bag of nuts for Valentines Day!  This year, we are both on diets, and really watching what we eat, so I chose pistachios to give him.  I guess they are a little healthier!  I rarely make *projects* for stamping, but when I saw today's challenge, I made a project instead of a card (cause my card was already done!).
I pulled out the perfect set for my tag topper - Forest Friends and Tag it's #12.  Can you believe I have that sentiment now?  He will love this!  :-)  And here are some close ups - one of the front and one of the back (made with Verve stamps)

Hope he likes them!!!   May just have to help him eat them...

PTI Anniversary Day 5 - Pinterest!

I love Pinterest!  It is an awesome place to find inspiration for card making.  I loved seeing the designer's samples today, and how they translated their inspiration photos.  I chose mine because I loved the colors of these beautiful butterflies.  I think I actually pinned it from Audrey from the PTI forum!

For my card, I used some Aqua Mist cardstock, and stamped the buttflies in Memento Black ink using the masking technique.  Then they were colored with copics.  I used Mat Stack 2 and 5 to make my sentiment panel.  Love how they mix and match!

I'm thankful for the new PTI Pinterest boards, and am so happy to follow!

Kraft, Pure Poppy, Spring Moss and Aqua Mist Again!

So I still had these colors out on my craft table tonight, and decided to try something different with these super colors from Lisa Johnson's favorites!  I used Nicole's wonderful background technique to create a panel on the Aqua Mist cardstock.  Love how it turned out, using the Mat Stack 5 stamp set, as well as the little leaf from Tag it's #12.  The filagree border was cut from Kraft, and I used some Kraft Bitty Dot satin ribbon with the bow easy for a little accent.
Thanks for stopping by!

Another PTI Anniversary Challenge with a little MOJO

Today we were given the designer's favorite color combinations from the last year, and challenged to make a card with one of their choices.  It was hard to choose!  I finally decided on Lisa Johnson's pretty mix of Kraft, Pure Poppy, Spring Moss and Aqua Mist.  I found this super paper in a box I received from Maureen Plut in a "purge blog hop" contest.  How fun is that??  These were in a pack from Cosmo Cricket called Early Bird.  I've used this weeks MOJO Monday Sketch from Verve.
The sentiment panel is Mat Stack 1, layered with a Tag Its circle.  The sentiment is from Verve's Circular Sayings.  The loopy bloom was cut with Pure Poppy felt topped with a Kraft button tied with moss embroidery floss.

Beeeee Mine!

This cute little bee will be buzzing it's way to my husband for Valentine's Day.  He is going to be traveling next week, and I'm hoping to tuck it into his suitcase.  I loved the simple sweetness of Beth Silaika's digi to celebrate Papertrey's Anniversary.  I made a long note card, layered with some designer paper that was stamped and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, using some single flowers from Stitches & Swirls (love that set...!)  I added some dots with a black marker for a little more flight of the bumble bee...lol. A little ribbon, button and tiny tag to finish it up.  Hope he likes it!  Thank you Beth!

Hey Chickie!

These sweet little chickies are a digi gift from Lisa Johnson in celebration of Papertrey Ink's Anniversary.  I decided to make a little 4x4 note card.  I colored the image with SU Markers, then cut it out with some hexagon spellbinders.  I used some Terracotta Tile cardstock to cut the ric-rack border, and gave a third layer to the image.  A little baker's twine and a button, and it was complete!  Thank you Lisa!

Hawaiian Shores Hello!

Day two of Papertrey Ink's Anniversary, brought us fabulous digi's to play with!  Oh my, this was fun.  It was neat to see the designer's favorite sets too ~ all of which are on my wish list!  This card was made with Maile Belles's wonderful "hello" design.  I used my favorite colors, Hawaiian Shores, Royal Velvet and Aqua Mist.  I stamped the card base with some circles from Polka Dot Basics with white pigment ink. The ribbon is Royal Velvet, and I added three little rhinestones for a little sparkle!  Thank you Maile!

PTI Anniversary!

It's Papertrey Ink's 5th Anniversary, and the celebrations have begun!  Today Nicole featured a boatload of beautiful eye candy, as the design team shared their favorite creations from 2011.  Then, we were challenged to make our own creation, inspired by one of theirs.  Oh my, so many wonderful choices!  I finally settled on this one from Maile Belles:
I just received the Circles Border die for Christmas, and I thought it would be fun to use it, as well as my Chevron Stripes set.  I decided to change it up with a more masculine palette, using smokey shadow, kraft and rustic white.  I used the sentiment and accents from Grunge Me.  Here is my card:

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to get in on the Anniversary fun! :-)

Make it Monday #51

This week's Make it Monday ~ Dimensional Sentiment Banners...very different!  I wasn't sure I'd play, but started fooling around with it, and came up with this...

I used some old double sided papers, then added another strip of white on top of my first strip.  I used Stitches and Swirls on the base of my card, and made the flowers with the double sided papers.  The sentiment is from the new Think Big Favorites.  For a final touch, I added a rhinestone to dot the "i".  The flowers are popped up with dimensionals so I could tuck them into the banner.  I ended up loving this technique!  Thanks to Nicole and her wonderful creativity!
