Watercolor Hydrangeas

Got my aquapainter out again this week to paint these great hydrangeas in the Friendship Jar Summer Fillers set.  I stamped the flowers twice so I could paint and raise a portion of them.  The sentiment is from Verve.

I'm off to stamp some more!  Hope you're having a great weekend. :-)

PTI April Blog Hop!

Happy Blog Hop to all my PTI friends!  What a beautiful inspiration photo we had this month to inspire our creativity!  I can't wait to visit all of you for what you came up with!  Here is mine:

I used 4 different papers from Lily Bee's Head over Heals pack, and stamped the last polka dot pattern on white, using Raspberry Fizz ink.  My little jar has a layer of acetate over the patterned paper, so it looks more like a glass jar.  The blooms and sentiment are from Verve stamps.  Every thing was placed on a Raspberry Fizz card base - who knew hot pink could be so pretty!

Happy Stamping!!

Make it Monday 62 - Layer it Up!

Today I made my cards for this week's Make it Monday challenge.  Betsy Veldman gave us a wonderful tutorial on how to build upon our cards, starting with one layer and building upon that. One of the suggestions she made was something I had never done, and that was to take some scrap paper to stamp a layout first.  Love that idea and I will do that a lot more!  My first card is my one layer card, using "It's a Jungle Out There" and "Botanical Silhouettes".

It's all on one layer of Ivory card stock.  The brush was repeatedly stamped across the bottom and up the sides.  Next up is my layered up version...

As you can see, the animals were cut out, stamped, and different thickness of adhesives used. (another great Betsy tip!)  I added the lattice punch right unto the stamped card stock, and the animals on top of that. I stamped the sentiment onto twill, and added a button and linen thread.  Everything was placed onto a Terracotta Tile card base.

And there you have it!  Great tutorial ~ Thanks Betsy!!

Two cards to share...

This afternoon my husband was able to golf, so guess what I did??  hehe...a little stamping!  The result was two cards that I'd like to share.  First off, is a card made using the Spinner Dies.  This is my first Spinner card, and it was fun to make!  I had a little trouble getting the coaster cuts to stick, so I finally used a little fast tack glue to hold them.

I put it on some navy card stock, and added some star dies.  The sentiment was stamped in white craft ink, and embossed with white ep.  After I finished this card, I was in the mood to do some watercoloring.  It's something I love to do, and hadn't for a while!  I used the Sketch For You To Try on Jen DelMuro's blog for my layout.  I've been trying to keep up with them this year.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you all have a great week!

MIM 61 Flower

Another post for this week's Make it Monday - Flowers from Leaf dies.  I wanted to use the Sending You leaves, but stamp them first for a different look.  The petals are stamped in Harvest Gold, and the leaves in Spring Moss.  I used Polka Dot Basics for the background, using SU Cajun Craze ink.  It's a pretty good match till the new ink comes out... :)

We had our Stamp Club today, so I'll be back with more posts later...

Happy Stamping!

Make it Monday - Flowers from Die Cuts!

Well, I hunted through my PTI dies, to find something besides Sending You leaves that Dawn used for her tutorial.  I decided on the Hot Air Balloon dies from Up, Up and Away.  At first, I used all three sizes, but decided it was just too big.  So it re-cut them to the medium one, and liked it a lot better.  I used a double sided print to make my flower, and used the opposite side for part of my card base.  The leaves were cut from a spellbinder die;

I stamped some Flower Fusion flowers on the inside and the envelope for fun.

Fun way to make your dies do double duty!  Thanks Dawn!

For Jessica!

This is the first of many cards we hope to send to Jessica, my DH's niece that was in a terrible bicycle accident a few weeks ago.  The doctors didn't think she would live, but God has answered prayers, and she has been moved from ICU to a rehabilitation center!

Her favorite color is green, so I wanted to use lots of it!  This is Wild Wasabi from SU.  I chose some pretty papers from We R Memory, that included some red papers for my flower.  The tag is the latest from Papertrey Ink, I love the little details cut that can be added to the edge.  Thanks for taking a look and have a Happy Stamping Day!

MIM #60 ~ Take 2

Remember when we used Pinterest as inspiration during the anniversary celebration??  Well I saw this mug from Vera Bradley, and thought how pretty!  I need to make a card like that...

Doesn't it look Springy?  I looked at it and saw Chevron Stripes and Pretty Peonies....  I tried a couple of different things and ended up with this:

I used the Generation Stamping technique again, and kept it simple. Now I may have to buy the mug to go with the card for a birthday gift!  :)

MM #60 Generational Stamping

I watched Ashley's video for this weeks Make it Monday at work.  I had an idea right away, and could hardly wait to get home and make it up!  I loved her card, and I loved the technique!  Here's what was in my head all day...
I wanted more of a monochromatic look to this, so I kept it in earthy tones.  It was fast, easy and is it okay to say I love how it turned out??  :-)  Thanks for stopping by.....!

Olivia Marie!

This afternoon I was able to make a baby card for some friends of ours that just had a little girl.  I thought it was the perfect match up for this week's Make it Monday, die cutting with computer generated sentiments! I used my computer to make one with her name ~ Olivia Marie.  Then I used Erin's technique to cut and stamp, using Mat Stack #5.

I used Martha Stewart paper I found at T.J.Maxx for $1.00!  (I think there are 24 sheets in the pack!)  I decided Harvest Gold was the best match color wise, and used it for my card base and ink.  Little girls need a touch of lace, so the filigree border was added and I topped it off with the pink baby pins.  I loved using this technique, and I know our friends will love that it's personalized for the new precious baby.  T
