MIM #88 - Home.

This week's Make it Monday, was a challenge from Erin to use positive and negative die cuts.  I had in mind what I wanted to do, as I just received my Boards & Beams dies this week.  I love how they work!  I know I'll use this set even more, because I love the dimension it gave!

I used a neutral color pallet, as I have two Realtors that use them for thank-you notes to their customers.  It's hard to tell in the photo, but after die cutting the center with a nestability, I die cut the fence all the way across.  Then after stamping the house on white and adhering it to the bottom panel, I stamped the fence all the way.  Then I added the top portion of the frame.  The topiaries where adhered to the inside of the frame with glue.  Then the trees were adhered with dimensionals.  It really gave that extra element.of pop!

Enjoy your week!

October SFYTT

Another Sympathy card was in order today, as a friend's Mom passed away this week.  I was challenged and determined to use this month's sketch for you to try.  It was a hard one!  As I built up my layers, I decided the peonies needed to take center stage, and used some ribbon for my sides.  I also used an inspiration photo from this week's inspiration challenge found here:

I hope you like it!  Have a great day!

PTI October Blog Hop!

Today we all share our October PTI Blog Hop creations!  I had a lot of fun with this one, a non-traditional Holiday color schemes challenge....  I chose this one,
I loved the gray and aqua combination, and knew it would work well with the stamps I purchased for my Christmas cards this year!  It was a good opportunity to start!
My card base is Ocean Tides.  Aggh!  My last piece, so it's now on my list for my next order.  The pine branches are stamped in Ocean Tides too.  My sentiment was stamped with Smokey Shadow on a piece of light gray (don't have any Soft Stone..yet!)  I stamped the branches around the sentiment, and then put it into a Fabulous Frames die cut with Aqua Mist.  The pine cones were stamped in a light gray from Versafine.  All the branches and cones are highlighted with a Spica clear glitter pen.  I wish I could have captured that, because it really adds sparkle!

Enjoy the rest of the Hop!  Thanks for stopping by...

For the Boys!

This afternoon I was able to make Birthday cards for my twin brother-in-laws.  I had made some, and just wasn't happy with them, so I used some softer masculine tones and kept them a little simpler.

I like these a lot better.  I think I'll use the other ones for my stash.  It was nice to stamp and create today.  It's been a busy week, and after finishing up a big order, I was too whipped to take pictures. :)  Hope you've enjoyed your weekend, and have a great week ahead.  PTI Blog hop on Thursday!!  Do you have yours made??

MIM Autumn Birthday

Just popping in to share another one of my Fall Birthday cards!  (Have I mentioned I have a lot of them from Sept-Nov??)  I used my hexagon coverplate for this one...
Using some pattern paper scraps, I cut the hexagons, and place them into the Terracotta Tile cut die, placing it on top of a Terracotta Tile piece of card stock.  I left out most of the hexagons on the left, but filled in the little border and edges on the right.  It gives it a ton of texture.  The image was stamped on a piece of textured cardstock, and then colored with copics.  It looks a little like fabric/needlework up close, really cool!  It's popped up on a a half & half die, and just an edge of patterned paper was tucked in at the bottom.
Adding the front to a Rustic White card, let me decorate the inside for this week's Make it Monday challenge.  I stamped the single house in Terracotta Tile, and the row of trees with Simply Chartreuse.  The sentiment was stamped with Memento Ink.  This is for a guy, do you think it's masculine enough??
Have a great day all!

Make it Monday for The Lawn Ranger!

After watching Ashley's fabulous Make it Monday, I knew I had to step up the inside of this card!  I do love this funny image, and it's a good one for guys...

I used a panel of white for my inside of this darker green card.

First I chose one of the Chevron Stripes, and repeated it at the bottom of the panel.  I just stamped it once at the top.  Then I used Fillable Frames#10 to cut a piece of the patterned paper, and stamped just the border.  I cut a white oval from the limitless ovals die, and stamped the funny sentiment in the middle.  I loved how jazzing up the inside, made this a better card.  Thanks Ashley for your inspiration!!

Make it Monday - Glitter Tabs

Well this week's Make it Monday is all about making Glitter Tabs.  Dawn showed how to use Heat & Stick powder to add a little bling to your card.  I gave it a whirl, and that's just was the glitter did when I accidentally used my heat gun over the bowl of glitter....LOL  May have a little glitter in my hair at work tomorrow!  :-)

I used the cute little tab we received in our Stamp-a-Faire goodies, with some pretty aqua Martha Stewart glitter.  The card base was stamped with versamark and the butterfly was stamped on the cream textured card stock, and then the die cut was place on top of it, only gluing the center down. Thanks for looking!

Watercolor Sympathy

So glad this Monday is over!  Long day at work, and rained all day too.  Hopefully this week will go fast!  I made this sympathy card over the weekend, just a CAS number....

This was inspired by this week's Featured Stamper on Splitcoast Stampers.  I loved the colors, and this is still a Stampin Up favorite of mine, Watercolor Trio.  Thanks for looking!
