For Hilary...

This will be winging it's way to my husband's daughter Hilary this week.  Her cousin was in a horrific bicycle accident. They are extremely close and even roomed together at Michigan State.  Her friends immediately took her to the hospital, where it turns out she was minutes from death.  They performed emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from her brain, she had a metal plate put in, and afterwards, the doctor's still said she might not make it.  Hilary flew to New York from Chicago to be by her side, and immediately prayers began.  Long story short, God has been answering our prayers.  The doctors cannot believe the progress she is making and are still skeptical.  The power of prayer!  She is still not out of the woods, but every day is a little better.  She will have a long road ahead.

I remembered this Verve stamp, and knew is would be perfect to use today.  Hilary has seen God at work this week in an amazing way.  We are praising Him for how He is watching over her, and her cousin as she recovers.

SFYTT ~ Bunny Shake!

I'm trying to get caught up on all the wonderful sketches and challenges that are out there...  This is a sketch challenge card from Jen DelMuro's blog, that's been sitting on my desk all month!  I decided to make my last Easter card for one of my grandson's, using Verve's adorable "Bunny Shake" stamp.  I just love this little guy, and had to make a stop at Michael's on my way home from work today, so I could add the little pompom for his tail..!

I used Stampin Up papers, and made the white background with a sentiment from PTI's Scrambled Eggs.  I think I may have to make another card with this cutie pie, cause I got a whole bag of those pompoms.... :-)

Happy Friday!

I'm so glad it's Friday.  I'm always ready for some quality stamping time over the weekend! I did make a couple of cards last night though.  The first one is for my BIL.  I forgot his birthday yesterday!!  So I grabbed my new zipper dies and  used the "happy birthday a little late" sentiment to make this card.

I paired it with my "Grunge Me" set.  P.J. gave me this great background paper, and I cased one of her great cards.  This will be out in the mail today, so not too late!

I also finished up another Easter card.  This one features the Chickie sentiment from the Friendship Jar Spring Fillers set.  I used a Viva Pearl Pen to make the dots on the egg, which was paper pieced with a scrap of Wild Wasabi print.

That's all for today.  Hope I get to make a "Make it Monday" over the weekend....!

peep!

Just a little "peep" this morning, with this card I made last night.  Again, using Scrambled Eggs from Papertrey Ink.  I used a Viva La Verve sketch to put this together, a great CAS one from Andrea.

I was going to put it on an Aqua Mist base, and Aghh!!  I am out!!  So I added a layer of the yellow, and put it on a white card.  The egg shell is paper pieced, and then I colored the dots with Copics and a Spica clear glitter pen.  I love the little "peep" stamp, I used it all over the band, and once more under the egg.

Happy stamping today, thanks for taking a peep...oh, I mean PEEK! :)

Hippity Hoppity Bunny

Got going on my Easter cards.  This one uses the new Scrambled Eggs set from Papertrey Ink.  When I saw this set, I knew it would be perfect for my grandchildren.  The little bunny is covered in Polar White Flower Soft. (Gotta add a little to his head...lol).  The grass was made by using the cut off side of the Heart Border die, then stamped with the little bunch of flowers from the set.

I made the background when I stamped with my friend PJ, she has the Medallion background set ~ love it!!

Sending Lots of Love

When I got back from my little vacation last week, I could hardly wait to do some stamping with a set I won from PTI's Make it Monday!!  I chose "Sending You" because I loved all the beautiful background Nicole had made using it.  Well, my March order arrived while I was gone, so I also had received some new inks, and the matching die.  Oooo, I love this set!!  I can't wait to make some more projects...

I chose some Harvest Gold cardstock, and used Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise and Spring Moss inks.  For the layered blossom, I stamped another flower, then cut it a little smaller and made fringe with the edges and fluffed it up.  Now I've got to get some Easter cards done for the grandchildren.  I can't believe it's just around the corner.  Scrambled Eggs, here I come...!

PTI March Blog Hop

What a beautiful inspiration photo we were given to inspire this months Blog Hop! I love the colors!!

So clean and fresh!  I definitely went for them for my inspired card...

If you look closely, you can see I used some butterflies from Beautiful Butterflies on the tag panel.  The flowers were stamped and hand cut from Mat Stack 5. I was able to cut into the petals so they could be fluffed up, as the paper is double-sided.  I layered two die cuts from Bloom Builders #1 under the largest flower, alternating the patterns.  The doily was cut in half.  The center of the circle was heat embossed with Tag It's 12 on some of the patterned paper.  Had fun with this month ~ hope you did too!   Thanks for taking a peek....!

baby joy

This card was rolling around in my head last night, so since I came to work late this morning, I had to make it!  I used the Frame It #1 stamp, as it's borrowed from my buddy P.J. and I'm returning it tomorrow!  The center baby items are from an older SU set called "A New Little Someone".  I used the lower case alpha dies to make my *baby*.  My little tag was attached with a foam dot so the pin could be attached freely.

Fast and easy!  Thanks for looking, and have a great weekend!

Make it Monday ~ Kissing Technique

Well I sat down to stamp yesterday and use the "kissing" technique, and realized that I only had one solid PTI stamp set, the new Beautiful Butterflies.  I wanted to use something different than the sample, so I pulled out "Great Friend" from Verve.  It has solid and outline stamps, so I thought it would work.  I stamped the three different flowers onto cream cardstock, using kraft ink.  Then I took Background Basics - Sheet Music, to do the technique.  This is just a super cool way of stamping, and I can't wait to try it again!  I used two Time Holtz distress inks, Vintage Photo and Tea Die.  Then I added the little leaves to fill in the background.  This was put on a Chocolate card base, and I added a ribbon treatment and the Little Labels oval sentiment.

I added a little sparkle to the centers of the flowers with a Spica clear glitter pen.  This was so fun to make!  Thank you Heather, for teaching us another wonderful way to use our stamps!

Lots of Stampin...!

Last night I had SO much fun, when my best stamping buddy, P.J., came over and we stamped for about 4 hours!  We both had new stuff to share and play with.  It was a blast!!  I have all kinds of die cuts ready to put into future projects too.  We used each others Shakers & Movers dies, and these are two of the cards I have finished....

These are both using the slider dies.  I love all the different looks you can get with these inventive tools.  P.J. used my zipper dies, and her creations were awesome..  Nothings better than stamping with a friend.   Hope you get to do that sometime too...!

Make it Monday #55 Larger Frames ~ Raspberries & Lace

Okay, so sometimes it's hard to come up with a title, but this is what I thought when I finished this one.  I used some of my new Raspberry Fizz cardstock and ink.  Dawn McVey showed us a clever way to enlarge frames with frame stamps.  Using one of the frames from Pretty Peonies, Raspberry Fizz ink was used to create a larger frame. I was able to fit in this great sentiment from Verve's "Words Cannot Express" set.  The layout is this week's VLV sketch.

Background papers are from Lily Bee's Head Over Heels pack.  The ribbon is Smokey Shadow Bitty Dot Satin.  The sentiment panel is stamped and framed in Smokey Shadow too.  Simple and sweet.  Thanks for taking a peek

Coffee Time!

I made a super easy, quick card this morning, using the adorable new coffee cup set from Melissa Bickford, called heart 2 heart #1.  I love all the different bands you can put on the die cut cup!  Since my daughter works part time at Starbucks, I went with a Kraft and Green color scheme.  I plan to send this out to her today, cause I'm really missing her!  She works full time as an Optician, is back in college to get her teaching certificate for elementary (she has graduated with a degree in secondary ed), and the Starbucks job!!  You think she's busy??  Hopefully I can take a road trip to see her soon....

Hope she likes it!  Happy stamping!
