Hot Celebration

So is it super duper hot where you live?  It's over 100 degrees here right now!  Good time to stay in and stamp. :-)  I made this hot little number, using my new little hexagons.  They are fun....

I used every red toned ink I have.  If Dawn uses Raspberry Fizz and Pure Poppy together, I think it's okay!  I love all her color combinations! :-)  Happy Weekend All - Stay cool!

Embellished Pocket Card

Today I have a Make it Monday card to share.  I had Lovely Layers sitting out, and couldn't resist using it, even though Dawn had used it in her super tutorial...  There are so many different ways to make this beautiful set. :-)  I used the leaves with stamping, and then I cut the middle layer with some Bitty Dot paper.  I also stamped the center, using Lemon Tart ink.  You can see it, just not so well in the photo.

My embellishment was put on a Pocket Card, using Heather's tutorial from a few weeks ago.  I put my sides together with some Washi Tape, love using this easy way to seal it up!  The inside was stamped too...

I loved being able to use just the stamp inside.  I inked the larger size in Lemon Tart, and stamped it three times.  The card base is Enchanted Evening, and this is a color combination I might use again.  Thanks for coming by!

Happy Anniversary #13

Today is our lucky 13th Wedding Anniversary!  My husband has to be away today, so Sunday before he left, I tucked this card into his suitcase.  I had so much fun making this card.  I used Royal Velvet and Creamy Caramel to go along with the fun sentiment about PB&J....  (Ashley did that in her release projects too, so I got the idea from her...)

I used Tag Die #6, and the heart and flourishes  from Tag It's #11..?.  The background was stamped using Royal Velvet and White craft ink.  I didn't have any purple ribbon ~ aaakk!  Have to add some to my next order....

Now, I just have to say, I feel SO blessed in my marriage! He is a wonderful man that God brought into my life about 5 years after a painful divorce.  I'm so grateful for him, he's not just my husband, but my best friend and partner in life.

Another for the Blog Hop...

I had so much fun with the colors this month, I made a second card for PTI's June Blog Hop.  I really wanted to add a light gray textured piece shown on the left side of the photo.

I found a lighter piece of gray and embossed it with a SU folder.  I added some pre-pleated ribbon down the side, and then made a flower with Harvest Gold felt, using the new Lovely Layers dies.  I found the perfect button for the center, and used Dawn's new sentiment set on the Quatrefoil impressed panel..

A little different, but I like the texture of this card.  Thanks for coming by....!

PTI June Blog Hop

I love the monthly blog hop from PTI.  It's so fun looking at the photos used to inspire us.  This month had my favorite colors - Aqua and Green, and a little Yellow and Gray too.  Here is the inspiration ~

I loooooooooooooooove these colors!!

This card has an Aqua Mist base, with leaves stamped in New Leaf.  I used the last of my Lemon Tart dotted satin ribbon, and pleated it, using my sewing machine.  The sentiment is on the Limitless Label ovals and I scattered some Lemon Tart buttons around.  It needed a little more pizazz, so I took the single dots from Polka Dot Basics to add some interest.  The sentiment stamp is from Verve.

MIM Kentucky Blue Birthday

Yes. I live in Lexington, KY where everyone is a UK fan. :-)  So I made this simple card in Blue and White, using Betsy's Make it Monday technique.  I also got to play with the fun little hexagon set that was in my PTI goodies this week....!

I put the hexagons on one block, touching each other. It gave the perfect space between them!  I used an older Stampin Up Ink, that was a great blue that is Kentucky colors! I found some buttons I had on hand to finish it off.  I'm sure it'll go fast....(I hope!)

Masculine Happy Birthdays!

I have two masculine birthday cards to share with you today.  Both my husband and son celebrate birthdays on July 2nd, so I wanted to get going on them.  I used my 2012 Birthday Tags set and papers from Basic Grey's Little Black Dress.  I love the masculine look of the plaid and stripe!

No flowers or bows, but some buttons...I hope they like them!

MIM Whale Wishes

Hope you've had a Happy Father's Day, and were able to remember your dad in some special way today.  My dad is in Michigan, and having phone problems, so I'm waiting for him to give me a call.  I've been blessed with a wonderful Dad and I'm very thankful for that.

I had a little time to make a card this afternoon, and wanted to try out this week's Make it Monday.  I decided to use my cute little Whale die to make my card.  He's puffed up with some layers of quilt batting, as I don't have any fun foam.  The waves were made with the rickrack die, in different shades of blues and greens.

I'm a sucker for any thing blue and/or green, so this was a fun one for me.  The fabric is actually navy blue, but it's a little hard to tell from the photo.  Thanks for coming by and have a fabulous week!

Warm Thoughts

Warm Thoughts to all of you this morning!  It's going to hit 90 in Lexington today ~ too hot for June!  Of course, that could be my Michigan roots speaking...!

I started this card last weekend and had a chance to finish it up this morning.  I love my new Turning a New Leaf stamps and dies!  I know they'll get lots of use.  The background panel was embossed at LAST year's Stamp-a-Faire! (thanks, Saree!)  It was about time for me to use it, don't you think??  Speaking of Stamp-a-Faire, we are having a gathering here in Lexington. If you are interested in joining us, let me know!  I'll send you all the details.  Hope you'll join us, we have plenty of room. :)

Have a great weekend!!

SFYTT June 2012

One more post today!  I've been on a roll this weekend, catching up on all my favorite sketches and challenges.  I like how this one came together!  I didn't have any Get Well cards made up, so I pulled out this cute Whippersnapper stamp to color with Copics.  I had decided to use a blue card base, and as I was looking through my papers, came across this older Stampin Up collection!  I loved the little stripes for my background!  Then I found these oversized buttons from PTI to use.  A little orange Baker's Twine and I was done.

I think this little guy is perfect for someone that isn't sick, but recovering from an injury.  :-)

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

MIM 69 Inspiration sketches

This weekend I made a set of simple Thank You note cards to give to my girlfriend Marjorie.  She's going through treatment for breast cancer, and praise God, it's going well!  I know she will be needing a few of these cards for friends that are helping them.  This first one used the above inspiration sketch from Nicole ~ the colors are similar to the photo as well. (Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise and Spring Moss)

I've kept all the cards free of embellishments, so she won't have to add extra postage.  Here are a couple more, just using some of the wonderful ideas I've learned from PTI.

The cards are all different, but use white card stock cut to 4 X 5-1/4, and use a coordinating color for the card base. Hope she'll like having these on hand.

MOJO244 Berries

I haven't been able to make a MOJO sketch card in weeks!  Between vacation, work and illness, it has been a long time.  I was determined to make one this week. As I have quite a few summer birthdays ahead, I used the sketch to make this card for one of them.

The jar of berries were stamped, colored with Copics and then cut out.  I used papers from Lily Bee and the little buzzy bee was paper pieced.  Now I'm hungry for Strawberry pie!

Happy Dad's Day!

Got my Father's Day card done.  I love my Dad so much!  And I love to visit him as often as I can.  He lives half the year in Michigan, and the other half in Florida, so when I saw this great sentiment on a coffee mug, I knew it would be on his card this year.  I've paired it up with Boards and Beams and kept it pretty simple. Just the row of hearts and a little twine.  I used the Happy Day stamp in the inside, and cut "dad" out with the lower case alpha, using the Bitty Dot paper, so it says "Happy Father's Day dad".
Hope he likes it!

MIM #69 Sketch Inspired Birthday

Hello all.  Today is the first Saturday I've had off for a while, so of course I'm trying to play catch up on all the wonderful challenges out there.  This card is for the PTI Make it Monday this week.  We were given wonderful sketches, that were inspired by photos.  Nicole's sample is gorgeous!  I chose to pull out my new Blueberry Sky cardstock and ink to create my card.  I used some textured white cardstock for my panel, cut with a Half & Half die.  The "happy" was cut and stamped with Spring Moss. The flowers are from some older double sided scraps, and topped with Pure Poppy buttons.  Last I swiped some Fresh Snow ink along the edges.

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope to have more uploads soon!

Phones!

I just love the new heart 2 heart phone stamp!  I had fun playing with it all afternoon yesterday :-)  I've been digging into my paper stash more, (due to Betsy's and Dawn's MIM tutorials...) so these cards went together fairly fast. For this first one, I used a matching brad from the paper collection for my dial...

This next one was inspired by a release card from Dawn.  Her card was in Purple and Kraft.  I used Pure Poppy and Little Black Dress papers from Basic Grey. I really liked how she used the Tag #6 die, and wanted to use it too...

Last up, is one that I used a drop of Crystal Effects for the dial.  The papers are from Green at Heart. I love the little spiral print, I think it looks like a telephone cord!  I applied Betsy's advice on mixing up the patterns, and it really helped.  The card base is Terracotta Tile, and I used a frame and sentiment from Framed Out (I think it's #2)

Lots to share today, thanks for taking a peek!
