Make it Monday - square frames repeat

This afternoon I spent some time stamping, using some of newer stamps and revisiting an older set too. I pulled out my Boutique Borders - congrats, to use the contemporary frame image to make a frame.  Then I used the older set, Frilly Flowers, to make some flowers to go around it. Background  basic polka dots and script sentiments were used as well  I love how it came together with the red, black and Kraft colors!

Make it Monday A la carte

So happy to have an opportunity to try out Dannielle's Modern Whimsy style. I was unable to play the week she posted it and it looked like so much fun.  It was so out of my element, but I think I met the challenge with this card.

I've used  bunch of scraps, but also did some stamping using Embroidered Blooms. The colors are Sweet Blush, melon Berry and Berry Sorbet.  It was all done in a panel of Soft Stone print and attached to a Soft Stone card base.

Thanks Dannielle, for stretching my creativity!

The Power of Coffee!

I made this fun cheery card on Christmas Day. Can I just say again how much I love the colors of these papers???

It was super fast to make with the new Latte Cups die. Some Copic coloring and a few enamel dots to finish it.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy stamping!

Papertrey Ink December Blog Hop

I had a great time making cards this afternoon.  We celebrated over the weekend with my children, and so we were pretty low key today. It was wonderful. I had a lot of new things to try out, so I made quite a few!

This first card features the Scentimentals set.  I am an avid coffee drinker, so I used that image with my brown/string choices.  I love Red and Kraft together, and the cute little cup worked perfectly in red.

Next up, is a card using the new Solid Stitches & Swirls.  I can't tell you how much I love playing with this set!  Trying out different color combinations is so much fun!  For this card, I used a Kraft base, and one of the new stitching dies.  (note - do your embossing BEFORE you stitch with string.  Don't ask me how I know this, but heat will burn string......)

I do love the look of this on Kraft, but my last card uses the same set, stamped on Rustic Cream.  I went with yellow and golds for a completely different look...

So these are just three of the cards I made.  I still have new things to stamp and play with!  Merry Christmas for me. :-)

I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas as well!

Playing with Solid Stitches & Swirls

Today I have a card to share that I made playing with my new Solid Stitches and Swirls set.  I know I'm going to really enjoy having the solid images!  I've also used the new banner die and stamps.

The colors are Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet and Fine Linen.  This past weekend was spent celebrating Christmas with my children and grandchildren.  It was SO much fun!  We had a slumber party at my oldest son's home on Saturday night, including watching a movie in his media room in our PJ's with popcorn!  We attended a Saturday night Christmas service at his church and then had pizza.  It was so fun to see the kids open their gifts, and I was really excited to receive a package filled with almost my whole wish list of stamps! I know what I'll be doing on Christmas Day....!  Hope you all are ready and have a blessed time with your family and friends!

Make it Monday in Vellum

Today I took some time to do something besides Christmas crafting.  I've not played Make it Monday for a while, so after watching Melissa's tutorial I headed for my craft table.  I pulled out Ruby Rose, Turning a New Leaf, and the new Inside Out Well Wishes set.  I love how she added a little print behind the Vellum panel, it added so much interest.  I found some of the details were lost in the embossing of the blooms, but it still looked okay.

The inside has a cancer sentiment for a friend...  Thanks for stopping by today!

Two Feet Deep = so much fun!

This is the second card I made to send friends this year.  I just love this fun set, and I hope to make some winter birthday cards after Christmas using it.  Using Autumn Prints to make the background was fun too.

I snuck an envelope for you to see too. I used the 2013 Christmas Tags for them.

Today I started wrapping gifts.  I sat down and made some quick "To You From Me" tags for them.  So easy with that set.  I bought it last year and hadn't inked it up yet!  Hopefully the wrapping will be done tomorrow, and I can play with last months release (before ordering this month...☺)

Have a blessed week!!

Christmas Cards done and mailed!

I know I've been gone for a while. Just the business of the Holiday Season. But my cards are finished and in the mail!  My hubby took them to the post office for me, and they were all stamped but the nice lady at the counter said "oh those won't go through with out an extra 20 cents on them".  Mind you. I left off buttons and bows this year, so I'm not so sure of her assessment.  But I'm happy the are on their way. ;)

Here is a close up of my first card...

I'll be back tomorrow with the other one. This set was just so much fun to work with I had two designs!

Monday Mood Board #23

I have a card to share today! We were on a little trip this past week, visiting our parents in Florida. The weather was rainy and cloudy, but the fellowship with my Dad and his wife, a sister and brother in law, and my Mom in law, was wonderful! I will send this out to one of them.
I used Monday Mood Board #23 to inspire me today.  I loved the fresh colors! Perfect for a Florida Thank you!  You can find the inspiration photo here...

The colors are Limeaide Ice, Melon Berry and Sweet Blush inks.  The bottom layer was stamped, and the middle layer is Melon Berry print paper.  I put a small bitty dot layer of Fine Linen on top to anchor the blooms from Fresh Cut Florals.  A little chocolate bakers twine with layered buttons and the sentiment stamped in Dark Chocolate finished my card off.  Thanks for looking!!

MIM Citrus Thanks

I made this during half time of the basketball game tonight!  So fast and easy to do. I would have never thought to use my stamp pads in the creative ways Ashely demonstrates in this weeks Make it Monday!  I'll be sending this soon to family we plan to visit in Sunny Florida. That's why I chose these citrusy colors. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy 90th Birthday!

My wonderful Mother in Law is turning 90 this month.  Although we celebrated as a family this summer when we were together, I wanted to make another card to mail to her on her special day.  I chose papers from Stella Rose Hattie collection as a starting point.  Perfect for a fall card, but not too traditional.

The square frame is from Over/Under Easy, using this week's Make it Monday challenge.  The numbers are die-cuts from MFT.  The Mums are from Mum's the Word, using Fine Linen card stock and ink.  I wanted to add a little sparkle, so I added some using a clear Spica Glitter pen to the petals.

Maybe you can see it in the close up,  but it sure was hard to show!  I'm starting to work on Christmas cards now.....!

Have a great day ~ Luanne

Make it Monday - Stamped Square Frames

I've really wanted to try to make one of Dawn's cool square frames, so this weeks Make it Monday was a push I've needed!  It was a perfect setting for my Hibiscus Burst Ruby Rose blooms!  I used some Basic Grey papers for my setting.  This is the last of an order for ten birthday cards from a co-worker.  It may just be my favorite!

My borders were easily created with a border from Over Under Easy.  Can't want to try out another one!

Have a great day!

Today I have a card that is nice and flat for mailing.  It was put together in a snap, with just a little heat embossing.  The stamps are from A Reason to Smile, which was part of this year's Stamp-A-Faire.  I love the grouping of blooms, and so I stamped them all the way across the panel using Pure Poppy, Ripe Avocado and Smokey Shadow.  The SMILE was heat embossed with White.

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by.....

Lovely Layers case....

One of the things I can do at work, is view images on the, this week when it was really slow, I pulled up some images of PTI's Lovely Layers.  I hadn't used it for a while, and it is such an awesome set!  Well, I found this beautiful set of cards from I am the Sporadic Stamper's blog, and had to case one of them!  They are all so gorgeous, so make sure you take a look...  Here is what I came up with:

Make it Monday 138- Inlaid Die-Cuts

I woke up this morning and had in my mind to use Up, Up and Away for this week's Make it Monday. Then when I got to my craft table, I realized that the die for the balloons was all in one.  So I went with plan B, a fall birthday card for my Dad.

It was really easy to do, and I love the effect of the leaves in the background.  The colors are Canyon Clay, Harvest Gold and Simply Chartreuse.  The die-cut is stamped with the Herringbone Background, and the sentiment is stamped in Dark Chocolate.  Here is a close up of the "happy"...

Love the texture it gives!  You can find the challenge here.

Inspiration Florals

Third Saturday off in a row here!!  I'm loving it, especially since I was able to play some challenges this morning.  This a first for me from WPlus9, an inspiration challenge.

This is what I came up with

I'm really enjoying making little arrangements with Fresh Cut Florals.  These were stamped with Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky and Fine Linen.  The chevron on the tag is a piece of washi tape, and the bit of lace is from one of the centerpieces from my daughter's wedding in September! You've got to do a little recycling now and then!  I'm looking forward to the next challenge, you can find this one here.

Halloween Treats!

Just a quick post tonight, to share the little treats I made for my co-workers.  I picked up some Doodlebug card stock (it's double sided and sturdier), and some fun green ribbon to make the pillow pockets.  I used Tremendous Tag die cuts, and stamped some fun Halloween sentiments.  The inside is filled with chocolate and sea salt covered almonds from Trader Joe's.  Let me just say, that I'm glad there were leftovers....!

Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

First Fresh Cut Florals

I had my first opportunity this weekend to play with Fresh Cut Florals from WPlus9.  I love the hyacinth, and stamping it was really fun!  It's a great set for those little floral accents on a card, and I'm ready to make more.

I used one of my favorite color combinations, Aqua Mist and Winter Wisteria, always a smile maker for me!

Thanks for stopping by!  Luanne

Make it Monday - Make It Monday #137: Dimensional Leaf Wreath

Yesterday I got together with my stamping buddies and had a little time to create.  While I was there, I stamped this background using Autumn Prints.  I must get this set!  It was so fast and fun to make.  So today I used it to make a card for Make it Monday, using leaves.  I chose the leaves from Embroidered Blooms, using the die cuts from Turning a New Leaf.   A button and some cotton twine and my card was finished!

Have a wonderful week!

October PTI Blog Hop - Tag it!

Christmas is just around the corner, and this month's challenge was to make a set of Tags for our packages.  I was pretty happy that my new Christmas tag set arrived in the mail, so I could whip this out pretty quickly.  I really am excited to make more as the season approaches!  My first set is pretty traditional colors, using Pure Poppy and Pine Feather inks, and a scalloped frame cut from Ocean Tides.  I used some Pure Poppy Baker's Twine to tie them on. The berries are drops from a red Viva Pearl pen, but they look a little dark in the photo!

The second set was made with Sweet Blush card stock, and embossed with gold embossing powder.  I used a little clear rhinestone for the center, and some gold cording for the tie.

You can hop over to Nicole's blog to see the rest of the hop ~ enjoy!

A few wedding photos to share

I have been collecting a few photos from family and friends from the recent wedding of my daughter, and thought I'd take a minute to share some more today.  It was a gorgeous day, and a they took pictures outside behind the church.  Yes, in the cornfields!

At the end of the ceremony, they literally jumped off the platform.  You've got to know this fun loving couple, and then that wouldn't surprise you!  She did pick up the train of the dress first!

These are my four grandkids, they were ring bearers and flower girls.. It was definately family time!

Make it Monday Roses

This week's Make it Monday, featured a quick stamping technique that adds lots of texture!  I chose the leaves and flowers from Rosie Posie to give it a try. It worked great!  I used cream card stock with Autumn Rose and Simply Chartreuse inks.  Theses were placed on some Smokey Shadow Bitty Dot paper. I cut some scallops with Sweet Blush striped papers and added a photo finisher die and sentiment. The final touch was a wrinkled ribbon bow in a soft pink.

Poppy Song

Love this new set from Verve!  It's such a fun flower to play with, and when a co-worker saw my last card using it, she made a special request to use them.  She also asked for the sentiment, an old wood stamp I've had for years.  (a good stamp lasts forever, right?) The background was stamped with Soft Stone ink using Background Basics Newsprint, and I've added a little grass die cut from MFT.

Thanks for looking!

Make it Monday - Layered Emboss Resist

I have another Make it Monday card.  For this card, I used the Mums the Word stamp set, with Boutique Borders - Sympathy and Turning a New Leaf.  The background was stamped with French Script and I used two different leaf images for the spray down the side.  The mums were die cut out of Summer Sunrise, and then stamped with Canyon Clay.   Thanks for taking a peek!

Make it Monday Lace Bouquet

This is my first Make it Monday for this week.  I really loved Heather's technique and couldn't wait to try it out this weekend.  I've used Background Basics - Music, Lace Bouquet, and a sentiment from Over Under Easy.  Colors are Kraft, Aqua Mist and Ocean Tides.

Masculine Make it Monday - Repeat & Lift

I have another quick card to share today, using this week's Make it Monday technique, Repeat & Lift.  For this card, I wanted to take a more masculine approach, since October is my month full of men birthdays!

I chose Sahara Sand, Pure Poppy and Smokey Shadow for this card.  It was fast, easy and I think the results are totally cool.  The sentiment in the banner die is from the Wishes Come True set.

Have a great week everyone!

Fall Fun for World Cardmaking Day!

Yesterday, I made three cards in the afternoon for World Cardmaking Day.  The first two are Watercolored Birthday cards, with some beautiful fall leaf stamps.  I stamped, and then spritzed with water for my backgrounds.

I used the same technique here, but a little different layout.

And when they were dry and put together, I used some trim pieces to make a Make it Monday card!

Even though the scraps were leftovers, I love how it turned out!  To finish it off, I found the perfect little leaf button in my Harvest Gold button jar!  Hope I can make another one today, using this fun technique!

Two Sunflower Bouquets

I pulled out Sunflower Bouquet over the weekend to do some copic marker coloring.  Sometimes it's just relaxing to sit with markers! I experimented a little bit with the container, using the colorless blender to give a modeled look.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope your week is going well!

Cups of Blue

I have a co-worker that shares my love of coffee, so when she asked me to make a card with cups of "blue-ware" for a friend of hers, I made this.  I used some fun blue and white papers, and added a little lace border to give it a girly touch.  The cups are from Verve and the sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

September PTI Blog Hop

This month is all about wreaths!  I love them and one of the first sets I ever got was a Wreath for All Seasons. But, I needed a Baby card, so I pulled out Birds & Blooms.  After embossing the leaves and some white flowers, I fussy cut the nest and bird. Now the dies are at the top of my wish list!  I also used Boutique Borders Baby and Tag It's .  My final step was to add some dots of cream Viva Pearls and some white MS pearls. Enjoy the rest of the projects!
