Ikat Birthday

Today I have a masculine birthday card to share!  I was inspired by this photo from Pinterest:

I thought the blue and black would be awesome with this new set!  Here is my card:

I used Blueberry Sky ink and cardstock, with a strip of Soft Stone print.  The button, ribbon and darker ink are all Smokey Shadow.  I love this new set!

Happy Wednesday!

MIM Bunny Grass

This morning I had to make this card up before work!  I just loved Dawn's Make it Monday video, and went right for this new border die of cut grass!  I pulled out some green glitter (which is everywhere now....) and went to town!  I've used Heather's Scrambled Eggs set from last year for my sweet little bunny.

I put it on a piece of Lemon Tart Bitty dot paper, and finished it off with some Raspberry Fizz twine and a button.  Fast, fun, and I think super cute!  Thanks for looking!

It's PTI Blog Hop Day!!

I just love the PTI Blog Hops.  So many wonderful projects by such creative people!  I get tons of inspiration looking at all your cards!  Hope you enjoy mine as well.

I chose to make a set of Monogrammed note cards for my daughter who's getting married in the fall.  I know she'll be sending lots of thank yous out after a shower or two.  I kept them very simple with little embellishments.  I used all PTI print packs and matching inks for a monochromatic look.

I used an older system for the monograms from JustRite Stamps.  I think they look kind of pretty all lined up!  I'm looking forward to giving them to her!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Sunday!  I hope you are all enjoying a beautiful Sunday afternoon like we are, here in Lexington.  I just love a blue sky, even if it's still a little crisp outside!  But I'll take 50 degrees over some of the very cold days we had when we lived in Michigan with those blue skies.  :-)

I was able to do some stamping yesterday morning, before some weekend company arrived and have a couple of cards to share today.  Plus, I made a card for the PTI February Blog Hop tomorrow!  It was lots of fun for me.  First up is a wedding card I made while I had my buddies Man and Wife dies...

His vest & tie look black, but it's actually a dark silver paper.  I loved making the brides 3-D bouquet.  I adds just a little extra something!  I left a sentiment off, and just have a nice inside wish on this one...

Next, I got out my Hands of Time set!  I was determined to use it before I made things from my new stuff!  (Well, I used a new die and impression plate first, but not the stamps yet!...)

I found I really needed to emboss the white clock, the ink alone just didn't show up enough to suit me.  I used Kraft and Cherry Cobbler inks and cardstock.  And the hand dies are wonderful!!  No stamping for these intricate hands.

That's all for today!  Stop back tomorrow where I'll share my Blog Hop creations...!

MIM Pinwheels

This week we had a super fun tutorial from Ashley, on how to create your own pinwheels!  She showed us several different ways to start from dies, and I decided to make mine with an older square punch with scallops.  I used the fun yellow and gray combination that is so popular right now.  On the yellow bitty dot paper, I stamped a couple of Fancy Flourishes with Versafine Grey.  The sentiment is stamped in Smokey Shadow ink and is from Simple Sunflower.  I've used some Soft Stone stripe paper for my scalloped edge.  The centers of the pinwheels are black dew drops.  What a fun and easy way to create pinwheels!

Happy Saturday all!

FS Mary!

I put a card together this afternoon to celebrate today's Featured Stamper on SCS.  I'm a long time fan of Mary's and had saved this pretty card from way back.  Don't you just love these colors together?  Navy, green and yellow, so sunny!  Here is my card based on hers...

I've used PTI's Fancy Folk Art and Beautiful Butterflies.  Thanks for stopping by!

Aqua Smiles

This may be my favorite color combination ever!  I just started playing with my Embroidered Blooms set, and pulled out Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Royal Velvet and Winter Wisteria.  Love!  Hope you like it too!

The card base is Aqua Mist, and the satin ribbon is Royal Velvet.  Have a great weekend all...!

Watercolor Sympathy

Wasn't today's post and challenge fabulous!  I've always done watercoloring on my cards, but nothing like this!  It was super easy, and the effect is amazing!!

I chose to make a sympathy card to have on hand, using Botanical Silhouettes.  I used Orange Zest for my flowers, and edged them with a little Pure Poppy.  The stems are New Leaf.  After stamping, I took a wet brush to soften the colors' edges.  Then I took the small dot and stamped the centers.  The card base is Terracotta Tile, with a sheet of design papers from my stash.  I will do this again!!

PTI Anniversary Sketch Celebrations!

I think I will make the other sketches too, but this afternoon I made a set of gift cards with three of the Anniversary Sketches Nicole shared.  I really wanted to use some of my new Kraft cardstock.  I just purchased it for the first time, as I was using up some of what I had first.  I am delighted with the richness of the color.  I chose to pair it up with some Marina Mist from SU, for what I think is a pretty combination.
Sketch number one is a Sympathy card.

I stamped the sentiment from Botanical Silhouettes, and then used my plaid impressions plate for texture.  I stamped the small squares with the smaller leaf image from Harvest Berries.  The are attached with foam squares, so I could tuck in a spray of the ginkgo leaves and a Kraft button.

Next up is Sketch #2.  For this one, I made a fast and easy masculine birthday card, using Heather's free download image.  Wow, I love this image!  If there is more of this style to come ~ whoo hoo!!

I used some heavier twine to tie off my cut edges, and three mini buttons underneath, since the sentiment was already on the image panel.

Last, is sketch #5.  I had fun stamping the flowers from Funky Flowers across the bottom.  The I used some white embossing powder to make the white centers.  I used the double ended banner die for the sentiment from Quilled Elegance.  And do you know what's on the ends?  Dew Drops!  Yeah, I remember when they first came out, and how I couldn't wait to have them.  Sometimes it's fun to pull out an oldie, but goodie!!

Thanks for all the fabby sketches Nicole, and thanks for stopping by!

Had to make a Tag too!

I had so much fun making my Valentine gift bag, I decided to add a little tag with the supplies left on my desk!  I used the same photo for my inspiration,

I will add this to my gift bag for Thursday!

Yippee! So fun to get crafty!!  :-)

Pinterest Inspired Gift Bag

Did you see the fun little gift bags PTI is going to start carrying?  So excited about these.  I think they will be so handy to have on hand for little gifts.  So today's challenge was to make a Pinterest inspired gift wrap, bag or tag.  I thought I would make a gift bag for my DH for Valentines Day.  I always give him a bag of nuts, it's  a little tradition... :-)  I found this cool photo for my inspiration:

I loved the gray background with a pop of red.  I thought it could convey a more masculine look.  I used my Front & Center die, cut with gray and stamped BB Chevrons with white craft ink.  Then I used my xyron sticker machine with Pure Poppy cardstock to create my words.  I added the heart, button and twine to finish my look.

I love how this turned out!  Can't wait until Thursday to give it to him!  Thanks for looking!!

One of Jessica's Favorites

This card was inspired by one of Jessica's Witty's favorites, which was one of mine too!  I loved her fabulous colors, and use of the herringbone background stamp. You can find it here.  Now, I chose to create my card with some neutral flair, so that I could make it into a masculine birthday card.

I found a scrap paper, that had the perfect colors to go with the Ocean Tides and Kraft.  This went together SO fast, you gotta like that!  Thank you Jessica, for how you inspire us so much!

MIM #103 The Die Cut Double Up!

Have you been joining in the excitement at Papertrey Ink, as they celebrate their 6th Anniversary?  There are lots of fun contests, prizes, and sharing what's heading our way this year.  I've been pretty much glued to my computer!  I missed yesterday's contest, but had some time to stamp this afternoon and tried out this week's Make it Monday from Betsy.  This idea had been in my head, so it was fun to give it a try!

For my card, I've used a Half & Half Die and cut the Solid Star Border, from the middle.  Then I cut the other Star border, and stuck it inside.  Last, I added a strip of Pure Poppy cardstock in the back.  Loved these primary colors for a kids birthday card!  I also used the 2012 Birthday Tags set, cut with the Limitless Oval dies.  You can barely see it, but I stamped some open dots with white on the Blueberry Sky card base.  Then I randomly glued some of the blue stars inside a few of them.  It gave some interest for a tone on tone look.  Thanks for taking a peek today, and enjoy all the festivities on Nicole's blog!

In honor of PTI's 6th Anniversary, we have been challenged to create a card from one of the designers favorites!  Oh my, there were so many wonderful cards, many I had pinned, many I had cased!  I finally chose this great card from Dawn as my inspiration.  I just love Rosie Posie, and I wanted to use her background stamping as my starting point.

Can't do justice to hers, but I'm celebrating you today, Dawn!  Thanks for all your inspiration!

Fun and Fancy!

Over the weekend, I played with the new Fancy Folk Art from Papertrey Ink.  It is put together so well, with labeled stamps to help you with placement.  I totally loved playing with this set! For this first one, I used Dawn's ruffled ribbon technique from a Make it Monday.  The flower spray is on foam tape that helps lift it to the ribbon level.

On this next card, I used a open scallop die from MFT on the sides.  The print paper is Limeade Ice, and it's layered on Simply Chartreuse card stock.

Can't wait to make some more with this fun set!  Looking forward to using some copics on the next one....

Have a great week!
