Feel Better Bears

Sometimes, it's just fun to create.  No challenge, no new technique, no special order... know what I mean?  I just felt like doing some copic coloring on Sunday night, and colored up these cute "boo-boo bears" from Whippersnapper.   Today when I got home from work, I pulled out some pretty papers I've had a long time, and used up some scraps to put them together.

Love this little guy!  If you have a boo-boo, I hope you feel better soon!

April Color Play

I loved PTI's April Color Play, even though I don't use purple very much.  I decided to play along..

I'm sure I'll be able to use this for a Wedding, Bridal Shower, or Anniversary card.  You can find the challenge on Lizzie's Blog found here!  Have a great week.....!

Tulip Time

I love tulips. They are me favorite flower, they just don't last long enough!  I've got two cards to share, that I'm sending to my Mother in Law and Step Mom for Mothers Day, using the gorgeous tulips from Friendship Jar Spring Fillers.

I fussy cute this second one.  I love it layered on the doily.  Thanks for coming by today!

Lacey Make it Monday

I made another card before work this morning with Perfect Pearls.  For this one I started with Kraft card stock, and used the silvery white first. I really wanted it to look like lace. I blended in the aqua green color, just on the stems and leaves. The sentiment has just the green, so it's a little darker.  Then I put it onto an Ocean Tides card base.

I took a couple of pictures, as like many of you, it was hard to show how cool the shimmer is on this great technique!  Thanks for stopping by....

MIM with Perfect Pearls

When I was in Michael's at lunch today, I saw a package of 4 Perfect Pearls, and just had to get them.  I've only had a pearl white color, and wanted to try them out.  I'm so glad I did!  When I got home from work, this is what I made.

The card base is Fine Linen, and the border is Ocean Tides.  The floral panel is Chocolate.  The sentiment is from Signature Greetings II.   I just had SO much fun making this!!  Can't wait to make another......

PTI April Blog Hop

Today is this month's PTI Blog Hop!  If you're not checking it out - do!  It's the most inspirational day of the month!!!  This month we were to make something using the current trend of angles.
I needed to make a birthday card for my boss this week. He is a huge Florida Gator fan, so my thought was to take a picture of his mug and use that as my starting point.  I thought "angled washi tape" for this months angled inspiration, and found this fun orange polka dot at my LSS.

I think he'll love it!  The party for him is today, and everyone at my branch is signing the card before we get pizza to celebrate for lunch..  mmmmm!  Enjoy the rest of the Hop!

PS....He LOVED it! :-)

Never Be Afraid

I made this over the weekend for mysweet Sister in Law.  She recently lost her job of over 7 years with no warning.  I know it will be a tough adjustment for her and my brother.  The good part? She traveled most of the time and missed out on time at home.  I know God has a plan, and will direct their paths as they see what's next...

I used the colors for this week's Color Throw Down, they are so pretty! You can find them here..  http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/   My card base is Navy, but there is a lighter shade of blue too...!  :-)

Have a wonderful day!

Trigger Moxie Make it Monday!

I've made this card for a co-worker that is leaving us next week to pursue his career as an accountant.  He's a nice young man, and plans to just study for the next month, before he takes the CPA exams.

Two Challenges ~ One card!  First, I was inspired by this awesome photo for Tuesday Trigger, from Moxie Fab World! I used the colors with some gold polka dot papers from Lily Bee as my sentiment base.
I chose a little deeper aqua (Hawaiian Shores) so those white letters would pop!

I thought how perfectly it would work for this week's  Make it Monday #112 - Embossed Alpha die cuts!
Here is my card for Jordan...

I wanted a little bit of interest in the background, so first I embossed it with the canvas impression plate. Then I stamped clouds (from Up,Up and Away) in Fresh Snow and a the little car (from Enjoy the Ride) in Versamark.  The letters were die cut (lower alpha dies) and then embossed with clear EP.  They were mounted with little pieces of foam tape.  The great sentiment (from Verve's Words of Wisdom) was masked off so I could use the word *dreams*. The little arrows are as well.  Here's a close up...

I used a sentiment from Up Up and Away in the inside that says "the sky's the limit!" I think he'll like it :)

That's it for today!

Inspired by Talbots

I got an email a few days ago from Talbots, filled with a collection of Turquoise & Red.  So pretty together!  Here is one of the skirts from it

I thought I'd better make something from this inspiration, so using this week's Make it Monday...

The background has Fancy Flourishes embossed with white, and then I used my one and only reinker, Aqua  Mist for watercoloring.  The flowers were stamped on Pure Poppy, and I used more Pure Poppy to watercolor.  For the leaves, I used a little Hawaiian Shores ink.

Yep! I love these two colors together!  Happy Weekend all.....

Make it Monday -Watercoloring Embossed Images

I have my first card to share today, using this week's Make it Monday.  I loved doing this!  I had to be a little creative, as I lack reinkers, so what I did was take my ink pad and stamp it a bunch of times onto a piece of acetate, and then I picked up the color with my aquapainter.  It worked well!!

The card base is Lemon Tart, and then I used a piece of embossed Sweet Blush to place my blooms.  I had to fussy cut them out, as I don't have the dies for these...yet! :-)  Lots of fun with this one!  I have another card to share, but I need to get a better photo...Back later!

Have a great day ~ Luanne

Get Well Collage Style

I have another collage style card to share today.  I had so many lovely comments (thank you!) on my first one, I thought I'd try it again.  I have an order right now that includes six Get Well cards.  I found this great sentiment in the Over and Under set, and used it for my starting point.

Using a felt flower, I built my color scheme around Melon Berry, Simply Chartreuse and Harvest Gold.  I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Black, and the over/under border in Melon Berry.  The swirls from Fancy Flourishes were stamped in Simply Chartreuse.  Then I added the small postage square from BB-Postmarks in Harvest Gold.  Those little square stamps work really well for this technique!  The flower was cut from Lovely Layers, and I added a few Melon Berry flowers in ink from that set.  The leaves are from Rosie Posie. I stamped a few rows of the smallest BB-Polka Dots in Soft Stone.  As a last touch, I added the little gold dragonfly at the top.

Have a great week everyone.  Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Thanks and a Mommy Duck

Good Morning!
I have a quick thank you card I've made, just using the leftovers on my craft table.  Love when that happens...

The flower is from the Daydreamer items I had left.  I cut a little vase with some pretty papers that went with the scrap of Limeaid Ice bitty dot and added three buttons.  Done!  The 'Thanks" is from Trendy Trees.

I also wanted to share a picture of what is happening outside the Employee's door at the bank...

Isn't she precious?  Every day she settles deeper into the nest.  There is a stream that runs behind the bank, and I can just see those little babies waddling to it soon...  One of my coworkers ran out a couple of days ago to yell  ask the landscapers to not disturb her!  :-)   Ahhh... Spring = New Life!

Have a great day!

MIM 110 - Collage Elements

Oh my goodness! I had so much fun whipping up a card this morning after seeing Dawn's Make it Monday video!  You can find it here to play along.  I've always loved collage stamps, but never had any luck with the finished look, so doing it on my own was so awesome.  I had an idea in my mind to use music notes and the sentiment from Happy Trails about a song...

So this is my finished card.  I was going to cut the bird (from Iconic Images) and pop him up, but it looked pretty good, so I left it.  I made him a robin, because growing up in Michigan, hearing them sing was always a sign of Spring!  The branch is from Birds and Blooms, and I inked the robin's branch in the same green (Ripe Avocado) and stamped right over the branch.  The postage background is in Kraft, and the filigree image is from the Over and Under set in Pure Poppy.  *Sigh*... I actually really like how this turned out.  Don't you love when that happens??

Have a great day all,
