May PTI Blog Hop

After being sick all week, I wasn't sure I'd be able to play this months Blog Hop!  The perfect cure to get going, was receiving my May order, which included Ruby Rose!  What a fun set to play around with.  This month was a flower color challenge, and I chose this bouquet:

Such luscious colors!  After stamping a bunch of blooms in these colors, I placed them on a Mat Stack 5 die cut of Soft Stone until I liked the arrangement.  Then it was popped up with foam tape on a stripe and polka dot base of Soft Stone prints.  The sentiment is stamped with Royal Velvet, and I added a few pearls for embellishments.

I left out the Blueberry Sky flowers.  It just was a little too much for this bouquet.  I love the finished card, and now I'm off to visit all of your posts!

You can find the link to the hop here!

Flip Flop Summer

Today is the last day of school here, and I decided to make some cards to send to my grand-kids to celebrate!  These simple cards are going to my grandsons.  I plan to make some for the granddaughters too.

Have a wonderful weekend, maybe you'll get a chance to wear some flip-flops! :)

A Couple of Thanks

Today I've got two Thank You cards to share, that I made to send.  I've used Fancy Folk Art for both of them, one in pinks and the other in lavender.

The beautiful seam binding is from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Store,  Isn't it scrumptious??
Thanks for coming by!

MIM Combing Butterflies!

I made a quick card this evening so I could try out Betsy's "combing" technique.  It was so fast to do, and really added a neat look to my stamped image!

I used a Soft Stone base with a piece of the bitty dot for the sentiment.  I stamped the antenna with some gray ink and highlighted the ends with a Spica glitter pen.  The butterflies are stamped with Harvest Gold.  I left one of them solid, just to give a different look for each one.  Fast and Easy!

FS thanks

I haven't blogged much this week, I've been making cards instead!  I was able to purchase a new Vagabond with birthday money, and it came this week. :)  So even though I'll have cards to share soon, I wanted to post this one for today's Featured Stamper on SCS.   You can Colleen's pretty card I cased here.

I stamped my background using Hawaiian Shores and Winter Wisteria.  The flowers are made from felt, and the leaves were cut and stamped using Turning a New Leaf.  I popped up the whole panel with foam tape onto the white card base.

Thanks for looking, and have a super week!

Babies, Babies, Babies!

I spent today making baby cards for a store that carries my cards.  I had just purchased Baby Button Bits for something new in the "baby" category, and this month they are releasing dies to go with!  :)  I really had fun coming up with them.  The first one has a hand made background made with the small squares of BB-Rainbows.

This second card used this week's MOJO Monday sketch.  I haven't been able to play that as much as I'd like to, so it was good to give it a try.

These first two cards use the little "sweet pea".  I fussy cut the second one, now I'm really glad the dies are being released!

Wishing Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Moms out there...!

Make It Monday #115: Beyond Paper with Impression Plates

Had to put on my thinking cap for this one!  No aluminum tape, but foil.  Wait, foil is too flimsy!  So... I pulled out my sticker machine and after I ran the foil through it, there was enough stability to run it through the cuttlebug to emboss!  I had to leave the backing on, so it was adhered with my tape runner.

This is going to my step-daughter later this month for her birthday.  It's on a Blueberry Sky base, and I stamped some white clouds from Up,Up and Away across the top.  I used a scissors and followed the curves of the waves. The flip-flops have sequins that a forum friend sent me, with a little rhinestone added in the middle. :)   Now...I'd really like to think up another item to impress.

Yippee! It's Friday, and I don't have to work tomorrow!!!  Happy weekend to you!

Iconic Images

One last card for my co-worker's order.  I pulled out Iconic Images and paired it up with some SU paper I've had for a long time.  It had an antique feel to it, so I though the old fashioned water pitcher worked well with it.  I've added a few little sequins in the blossoms, a sweet friend from the PTI forum sent them to me ~ thank you!!  The frame was cut with Fabulous Frames, and the ink is color matched to the SU papers.

Have an awesome day!

Sending Happiness

You'd think after making a gazillion favors for my daughters wedding with this paper, that I'd be tired of it.  Nope.  I had to go out and purchase another pack so I could use it on  It's called "Nature's Garden".  It is so pretty I had a hard time picking which ones to use first!  This looked great on a Sweet Blush card base.  This is a part of an order for a woman from work, and may be my favorite of all!

Thanks for dropping by!

We have had company over the weekend, and went to church last night.  I'm so glad, cause it's raining miserably this morning!  Perfect time to head to the craft table for a little stampy time!

This was made for today's Featured Stamper on SCS.  You can find Gayatri's cute card here.  I used a little Raspberry Fizz as my accent color...I need to use it more!  I love the punch it gave to the yellow and gray.  Hope your day is a sunny one!

Make it Monday - Blown Ink

For this week's Make it Monday, Dawn McVey taught us how to use reinkers with a straw to create unique backgrounds.  Using my Ocean Tides reinker with little drops and strong blowing, I got a lot of little spiky streaks.  Perfect for my plan, to use Funky Flowers, the flower that "bursts"!

My flowers were stamped with Royal Velvet and Winter Wisteria, and then I heat embossed the centers with Versamark and Butter EP.  I finished them off with a little pearl center.  Happy with the results ~ thanks Dawn for showing us how to do this!  You can find her tutorial here.

Have a great weekend!
