MIM Happy Birthday Heather!

Have you ever had a set surprise you? One that you liked, and then loved, and then wondered what you did before you had it?  It's totally Ruby Rose for me!  I'm so glad I have it, it's one of the best flower sets ever!  (Thank you Dawn!)  Today, I've used it with my Make it Monday card, Double Background stamping.  I used a piece of Fine Linen card stock as my base.  I stamped Background Basics - Postmarks with Versamark Ink, and then used Fancy Flourishes on top of it, stamping with Fine Linen ink.  I first made the flowers with Spring Rain, and they just faded too much into the background, so I made them again with Blueberry Sky...much better!  The leaves are cut and stamped with Simply Chartreuse.  It was all put onto a white card base, which really brightened it up.  Hope she likes it!

Trying my hand at Make it Monday #126

So. I gave this a shot.  Don't know why, but I really struggled to do Betsy's wonderful technique this week.   I had this card in mind for my future son-in-law's birthday in August.  He's a super musician and I thought this would look a little "artsy".  In my mind, it's a failure, as I just couldn't get the lines correct.  But, I thought I'd post it to show that I tried!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Two REDO's!

Today, I've taken two cards that I was never happy with, and made them over.  I like the second ones so much more!  Tell me what you think....

You can find the first card here.  All I really did on this one, was add a third flower, creating the "rule of three".

This second one, I pretty much ripped apart, and saved the main image and the hexagon border.  I flipped it to horizontal, and added a textured panel instead of the wood grained panel.  The original must have been so bad, that I didn't even take a picture of it!  Trust me, you didn't miss anything...

I'm off to clean up my stamping area.  I'm sure you have times where you have to do it before you create again!

Have a great week!

Catching Up

Hi there! It's a busy time for me right now, but I've been able to make a few cards this week.  I'm working this morning, but hope to get some stamping time in the rest of this rainy weekend!
This is my first card using Meadow Greens.  It really reminds me of going to my family's cottage in Northwest Michigan every summer!  We would explore those woods and pick wild blueberries too!  What a wonderful set this is. I  think it works for masculine, as well as femine cards.
I also made a card for a co-worker, with this cute image from Mo Manning.  It is for a young friend of hers that graduated from High school this year.  I love that it's not too traditional.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend as well!!

Had to use my phone to upload today, but I didn't want to miss out on the fun!  It's PTI's monthly blog hop, and I chose this great color choice-

Aren't they yummy?  Makes me want a nice Summer fruit salad!

Happy Hopping All!

MIM Thanks

After a wonderful vacation, I am back home, the laundry is done, and it's time for some creativity!  I have to head for work in a bit, but had some time to make this card this morning for Make it Monday.  I loved how quickly this came together, and I'm eager to make another one!  You can check out the challenge here, for Defined Watercolors.

I have lots of thank you notes to send right now, and this seemed like a great set to try out this technique.  The bamboo is waterstamped with Fine Linen, and then defined with Kraft.  For the grass, I used the same technique with Spring Moss, then Simply Chartreuse.  The filler branches are stamped with Soft Stone.  It was layered on a piece of Spring Moss, then added to a Ripe Avocado card base.

Thanks for stopping by!

Randy's Birthday Bike

Happy 4th everyone!  If you're in the US, hopefully you're enjoying a day off and a great cookout!  It's raining here, so I did a little retail therapy today. :-)  I got a card to share that I made this week for my husband's birthday. (it was Tuesday).  He liked it!  After I stamped the bike with Scarlet Jewel ink on the blue paper from Basic Grey, I went over it with a Spica Clear Glitter pen.  The doggie and basket were stamped and cut out then added.  The plaid paper is from the same Basic Grey pack, it makes great guy cards!  Hoping to get a little more stampy time in today, but I've got to pack for vacation too!  I guess it's the busy summertime...
