SAF 2013 is in the books!

Wow!  Two full days of stamping for me!  Whoo-hoo!  I loved every minute of it!  From great company (thank you for joining me Amanda!) to creating in a bunch of new ways, it was an awesome weekend.  Here's a few snaps of our fun day...

Sweet Amanda with our mess!

Dying up some tags, felt and ribbons..

Baking a few embellishments..

And my finished projects!

Thank you so much to Nicole, all the PTI Designers and Staff.  See you next year!!

SAF 2013 Sugared Baby

My final card!  You know, this was the only one I had to change up, because my first attempt was not satisfactory...!  I first tried Heather's colored glitter, and didn't choose the right die cut.  Since I knew I was making a boy's baby card, I tried again, this time using Erin's glittered ribbon technique.  Ahhh, success!  This was a lot easier for me.  I opted to not put a bow on (boys, you know...).  I made my background with Background Basics Rainbows, using Spring Rain and Aqua Mist.  The card base is Blueberry Sky.

That sentiment cracks me up!  Now I just need to clean up my messes.  How about you? Did you get them all?  What a great weekend.  I'm exhausted, but in a good way!  Thank you PTI!!

SAF 2013 - Limited Ingredients

Well, I really stuck to the challenge in this one!  I only used a stamp set, even though I really wanted to pull out some dies....However, I did not see them on that list, and I was going to stick to it!  :-)

I used my Fancy Folk Art set, because I knew I would be able to stamp the pretty colors we were allowed for the leaves and blooms.  I created a little border across the bottom, in lieu of an edger die....!  There is sparkle on the dot areas of the flowers, you just can see it well in the picture...

SAF 2103 - Scent-sational cards!

I had a hard time picking which scent I would start with for this innovative technique of adding smells to embossing powder!  How cool is that??  I went with the pumpkins, as I have a co-worker that loves Fall and knew she would appreciate this card.

I used the masking technique for the row of pumpkins, and only scented 3 of them.  I liked the different shading they created. Boy it smelled SO good while I was heating them up!  The border was made using a stamp from Over Under Easy.

SAF 2013 - Custom Accents from the Oven

So many fun choices for the Shrink plastic, but I saw Heather's tree, and just loved it!  We didn't use the heat gun method, we just put our trees in the oven, but I loved adding the embossing powder and some sparkle after they were shrunk!

I went a little funky, and made a teal tree!  I made my card base with Aqua Mist and added some clouds from the Up,Up and Away set, and a few snowflakes from Winter Penguin.  The snow drifts and sentiment panel are Soft Stone.  I found the perfect sparkly button in my Aqua Mist button jar, and tied it on with some silver cording.  The sentiment is from Sending You.  Won't be long and winter will be here, right?  Eh, I hope not!!

SAF 2013 - Gallon, Quart, Pint!

This was a great plan from Betsy Veldman, on how to decide your color choices on a card, and basic portions of each!  I loved the idea, and will keep it in mind, every I'm putting cards together!  On my card, I've used a gallon of Soft Stone, a quart of Hibiscus Burst, and a pint of Ripe Avocado!  I chose one of my favorite older sets, that I've yet to purchase the dies for, and after fussy cutting the blooms and leaves out, the dies are back at the top of my list. :-)

The center of the flower was paper pieced with some more Soft Stone patterned paper and I added a soft white button for my center.  Thanks for looking!

August 2013 Blog Hop!

I'm so glad I made this earlier in the week, as I don't think I would have had a minute to make it Saturday!  I loved the Sketch/Color challenge Nicole gave us for this month, and I plan on using all of them in the near future!  I chose this FAST FOOD Color & Sketch for my card.

My boss is leaving next Friday, moving to Texas!  His wife is already there, so he will make the 16 hour drive alone.  I will be tucking a little Starbucks card into this for his travel...

This new coffee set is fantastic!  I used scraps from my trim pile for my stripes.  The stack of coffee cups are stamped in Dark Chocolate on the inside too.  I love it when a masculine card comes together.  Now, I'm off to finish my projects from Stamp-A-Faire!  :-)

SAF2013 - A Sprinkle of Salt

I decided to pull out the new set for this next technique.  It was sooooo different than anything I've tried before....

It got cooler as it dried! And, I love this sweet stamp set too! Aren't those blooms fun?????!!!!

SAF2013 Mixing Mists to Match

So, right now, this is my TOTAL favorite card for Stamp-a-Faire!  I used Ocean Tides to make my mist, and I added Perfect Pearls in a soft blue/green color.  Oh, I wish the camera could capture the shimmer - it's sweet in real life!

I've used Meadow Greens, and it just looks so fresh and sparkly!  The seam binding is Always Artichoke, and it looks neat with Ocean Tides.  It needed a little sparkle, and Amanda suggested a couple of Rhinestones ~ they were the perfect touch!

SAF2013 Tea Staining Techniques

Well, after a full day of working on fun new projects, I'm taking a little break to post a few of the card challenges for today's Stamp-a-Faire.  The first one if the Tea Staining Tea Staining Techniques, so I was glad when we were advised to go ahead and get our fabric ready last night.  I loved how "earthy" it turned out!

I used my Frilly Flowers set, stamping with Kraft, Fine Linen and Spring Moss.  The card base is Spring Moss, and I used the Background Basics Postmarks to add a little interest  I also added the Vine Border die, since my stamping partner for the day, Amanda, just happened to have it to share!  I've also added a few burlap leaves, a cork button die cut, and a sewed all the layers together with twine.  Yep, going to do more of these!  Thanks Melis!

SAF2013 - Breakfast Make & Take!

Yeah! First challenge for today's Stamp-a-Faire done!!

I used these colors and this sketch...

More to come!

Zebra for Aimee

I'm going to a birthday party tonight for a friend I met in a bible study last winter. I remembered that she loves zebras, so I knew It's a Jungle Out There, was the perfect set to whip up a card for her!  Have a Wild and crazy day everyone!!!

Loving the Mums

I love this new set!!!

I got to stamp a little bit before work this morning, and I'm so happy! The new set from Dawn McVey, Mums the Word, is just awesome!  I can't wait to make more of these fun fall flowers!  These were made using Pure Poppy cardstock, and then stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink (SU).  I used a Soft Stone card base.  It just made for a happy day, even though I had to leave the craft table for my desk at work!

Sunday, August 18, 2013

This afternoon I put a little strawberry card together for this week's MOJO Monday Sketch.  I've used Berry Sorbet and Ocean Tide inks, with a piece of Pure Poppy prints.  The Berry panel was embossed with a Aida Cloth impression plate, and the Sweet Blush panel was stamped with the smallest size polka dot background stamp  Just a sweet little thank you note for a friend.

Thanks for dropping by!

Round Repeats Birthday

I've got a little birthday card to share today, using Round Repeats.  I chose to make flowers with Aqua Mist ink, fussy cut them, and add a button for the centers.  I used a piece of striped patterned paper for my setting.  I think it has a little hint of fall to it!

Have a wonderful week!

A little MOJO love

Today I pulled out those pretty papers again, to play this week's MOJO Monday.  I can't help it, these are just my happy colors!!  I'm not going to hoard save these papers, well, at least not until I near the end!

I backed the rectangles with white so the patterns weren't lost in each other.  I love that there are little sparkly enamel dots that matched, it's nice to add a little bling!  Thanks for looking!

One more Make it Monday!

I just loved pulling out sets this week to find little stamps for this week's Make it Monday challenge.  So easy to do, and fun finding little treasures in those stamp sets we hoard buy!  This one uses Stitches and Swirls:

I used White, Kraft, and Versamark for my inked background.  And, I found the cute little stick pin on clearance at Michael's, gotta love a deal! The little green border is the Heart Border die, so handy to have and more even than cutting with fancy scissors (remember those?)

Later ~ :-)

Viva la Verve Inspiration Dare!

Excited to play August's Diva Dare today!  I always say I'm going to play each month, and then all of a sudden the month is gone.......  Today I layered on the papers with a touch of "sweet" bling to meet the challenge.

I just got these (have to be my all time FAVORITE) papers called "Happiness" by Kathy Davis.  I'm loving on the deep aqua and purple tones ~ sweetness to me!  I used this sweet sentiment that has had me singing the song all afternoon while crafting!  Haha, gotta love crafty time happiness!   I also used this week's viva la Verve sketch, but flipped the embellishment to the bottom cause I liked it better there!

Sending Prayers to Kelli

A dear friend of ours lost her Dad this week, so I wanted to make a card to send.  It's so hard to loose a parent, and I just wanted her to know that she's in our prayers while she goes through this difficult time.

Meadow Greens is a perfect stamp for random stamping, this week's Make it Monday.  I've paired it up with the new Mat Stack 6, using both the striped border and the little scalloped edge.  The sentiment is from Beautiful Butterflies.

Hope your week is going well!

Make it Monday - Stamping Random Background Patterns

I decided to pull out a set for this week's Make it Monday, that I just had to have, and then haven't used it much!  For me, that was Lace Bouquet.  There are beautiful smaller flowers in this set, and I used them with White and Versamark inks.  I even used the little bloom from the "handmade by" stamp!  The focal point is from Mat Stack 5, and the sentiment from Meadow Greens.  A little ribbon and 2 buttons and I was done!  Lots of fun and a fast card for me!  You can find the challenge here.  Thanks for stopping by!

Double Background Sunflowers

Well, we had a great trip to Indianapolis this weekend for a bridal shower for my daughter!  It was very lovely, given by my two daughter in laws.  There were over 40 people there!  We came home this morning so my hubby could get to work, so I've had time to stamp this afternoon.  I pulled out some new MME papers, that reminded me of this months color play from Papertrey Ink.  I paired it up with this week's Make it Monday ,Double Backgrounds.

My background was stamped directly onto the card base.  First I used a cheesecloth background, and randomly stamped with Fine Linen Ink.  Then I used a frilly leaf spray from Turning a New Leaf, and stamped with Spring Moss after stamping off once.  I love how subtle it looks!  The sunflowers were cut from Lemon Tart, and then stamped with Harvest Gold.  I think these colors are a sneak peak to fall ~ just around the corner...  Have a super week!
