Just Because Birdie

Just a quick little post today!  I made this fast card on Sunday afternoon when I was stamping with my friend PJ. It was so easy I love the feathers for the

Had fun doing the little birdie. Guess my Michigan roots are showing by making it a robin!  Spring. Come soon!

Today I have a cheery sort of card to share. It is using my favorite new set Doodlie Do!  I've chosen some fun colors to put this card together. It will go to my mother-in-law this morning.  I like to send her a little card every month as she lives far away and we don't get to see her nearly enough. Hope you're having a great day and that it's warming up in your neck of the woods. Thanks for stopping by!

Words of Comfort

Today I'm playing with the Color Throwdown crew, using the great colors of Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red, Kraft, and Daffodil Delight, and today's Featured Stamper on SCS.  I used Mat Stack 3 dies, A Wreath for all Seasons, and Words of Comfort stamps.  I'm waiting for my buddy PJ to arrive and we are going to stamp all afternoon!  (missing you Amanda, feel better soon!)

One more for the January PTI Blog Hop

I had to make two cards for this months Hop...  I love Doodlie Do, and can't quit making these fun flowers...  After embossing with Pink Zing EP, I used copics and some Autumn Rose ink for the colored flowers.  The white leaves and flower were stamped in Sweet Blush, the sentiment in Autumn Rose.  All was placed on a Sweet Blush card, topped with the white quatrefoil die cut.  Thinks makes me hope Spring is coming soon, especially on this snowy blustery day!

Happy Hoppin!

Make it Monday with Glitter

Glitter.  Love it, or not?  I used to avoid using it because of the mess.  But when I learned how wonderful a lint roller was for clean up, I started playing with it more often.  In Heather's great tutorial, she also showed how to use your sticker machine for putting it on both sides, so now you've taken away the glitter/glue mess, so I'm in!!  I had started this card last week, and found the glittered candles to be the perfect final touch.  I hadn't even cut these candles yet, so yay for using a new product that I've had for a while...

The flames are champagne glitter flakes, and the candles MS fine aqua glitter.  This was really fun to make, hope you'll try it out too.

Have a great Saturday!

Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop in Pink

This card was inspired by the fun pillow in the inspiration photo.  I immediately thought of Watercolor Wonder, which I hadn't used for a while.  I added the sentiment and frame from Framed Out #11.  Time to get busy on Valentines!  I finished it by adding a few pink and white sequins.  Fun, quick and flat for mailing.  Thanks for looking!

Mood Board - just a note...

Today I'm posting a card I made for Monday Mood Board.  I got my inspiration from the cool chevron strip on the right.  I used the smallest feather to create my border, using Versafine gray, Harvest Gold, and Kraft inks.  I hand cut the larger pen feather.  I was going to use some gray twine, but opted to leave this card flat, as I'm sending it to a dear friend in Canada.

Doodlie in Blues

Another card from Doodle Do's today.  For this card, I stamped scattered flowers and leaves to create a background. I highlighted the largest flowers with a Viva Pearl pen, after using copics to color.  The card stock is an older SU color called Almost Amethyst.  The seam binding is from Verve.  This is really pretty in real life!

Hope you're having a great day, even if it's super chilly and snowy outside!

Doodlie Do

What a fun set!  I played all afternoon with this new one, and found it very fun just to stamp and color the images. This was the only card I put together, but I will have more!

I also used my Tip Top dies. The sentiment is from Inside Out Well Wishes.
I popped up one flower with some Foam tape.  Lots of fun!

Thanks for looking!

Sweet Baby Blues

I found I needed a few baby cards this week, so I  pulled out Knit Bits to put this together. The shades of blue and lavender are a soft color combination for a simple baby card.

The button was made from polyclay left from Stamp A Faire. I used a simple stamp from Button Bits on it.  I used a little Baker's Twine and it was finished.

MIM Generational Line Stamping

I had to hunt through my stamps to find a good "lined" image to try out this technique taught with a twist by Dawn McVey.  I had these colors sitting out on my desk, and decided to go with it! They are Harvest Gold, Canyon Clay and a little Orange Zest for the blooms, and Simply Chartreuse and Ripe Avocado for the leaves.  The sentiment is on Simply Chartreuse, embossed with white.  I put it all on a Rustic Cream card base.  The center of the flowers were made by pressing micro beads into a glue dot.  (I think I may have more on the floor than on the

Scrappy Birthday

I actually cleaned up my craft table this weekend,  made this with some leftovers I found!  Most of them were scraps left from a MIM card that I didn't use.  You can tell, but I used some shimmer white card stock as a base.  It really adds to it in real life, but on camera, it really picked up the pink tones of the sweet blush and melon berry pieces...

Yes, a happy accident I think!

For Jodi

My daughter has a precious friend named Jodi, that went through major surgery recently.  She is in tremendous pain, yet her faith in Jesus is what is keeping her going, as she goes through the healing process.  I have the privilege of know this sweet gal, as she sang at my daughters wedding in September.  You will not find a stronger, loving woman than she.  I am sending this card to her this week, hoping it will bring her a smile.

The inside has a wonderful sentiment from Healing Touch Sentiments as well.  The flowers are from Delightful Dahlias Additions.  I think I am finally getting the hang of placing these layered stamps together.

If you pray, please add Jodi to your prayer list!  Thank you!

Make it Monday - Multi-Layer Images

I loved this technique, and even though I had used it before, Betsy's video helped me take it to the next level.  I loved her suggestions of finding punches and dies to make more layers.  I needed some birthday cards for my stash, so I made three...

First, a masculine look, using cream, kraft, red and black.  The background paper is from Studio Calico that I found at TJ Maxx!  Gotta love a bargain find!

Next is one with "happy" colors.  I used the HAPPY and stars from Tip Top dies, and the birthday die from Wonderful Word Birthdays.  I pulled out the sticker machine for this.  Next time, I'll pull it out even earlier, if you know what I mean...

Last is a card that could be used for a guy or girl.  This is terracotta tile, spring moss and dark chocolate.  If you look closely, you can see that I used the canvas embossing plate on the spring moss background.  If gave just the touch of texture this card needed.

What a fun Make it Monday.  I want to make more! :-)

Happy January Birthdays!

Next week it is my daughter and my daughter in law's birthdays.  I decided to use my Two Feet Deep set again.  I just love the details of this awesome set, and perfect for the girls as they both live buried in snow and cold in Indianapolis!

This first card is for Jennifer.  I've used all kinds of PTI goodies, including the one liner Happy die, and the great Banner die and stamps released last month.  The bottom half is shimmer card stock, and I've added a few marshmallow sequins for extra sparkle.

I fell in love with the red/black plaid of Betsy Veldman's card and just knew I'd duplicate it at some point.  How clever is she?  Looks just like a car blanket we had when I was a kid!  I put it on some Spring Rain card stock, and used up some snowflakes I cut before Christmas (thanks Amanda for sharing so much ;-)

And there you have them!  Thank for taking a peek, stay warm...!!!!

For Mary's Sister

A dear friend has a sister that will be starting treatment this month for cancer. Was it a coincidence that I had just received this beautiful sentiment set called Inside Outside Well Wishes?  I don't think so!  She asked me to make several cards to send her, and this is one if them. I've also used Ruby Rose Reprise for my flowers.   I hope she likes them and her sister as well.

Happy Birthday Fun

I had a little time in my craft room this afternoon, after working this morning and before going to serve at church this afternoon. I was able to make this sweet card using Navy and Raspberry Fizz. I love the look of these colors together!

The flowers were made from embroidered Blooms using Raspberry Fizz and Hibiscus Burst inks. That's all for now.  Hope to play some more tomorrow. Thanks for coming by!

Christmas Thank You and Make It Monday

I went a little wild today. I knew as soon as I saw this weeks MIM it would make perfect thank you notes for Christmas, using up all my scraps of Christmas prints. (I have a little problem throwing them away!)

First I sorted them by colors. Once I did that, the card bases went fast!  Then I had fun choosing dies and embellishments to finish them. The simple Thank You stamp is from Mat Stack 1.

Like I said, a little crazy!!!!

Happy New Year everyone!  Blessings to you for 2014!
