Inspiration from SCS

I am on a roll today, with a second post!  This one is for today's Inspiration Challenge on SCS.  I saw this photo, and know it had tone made with the Modern Cross Coverplate.

I made it in less than 30 minutes, which is a miracle for me!

It is made with navy cardstock, but I think black looks cool too!

Debossing Harvest Berries

While I was at work this week (don't tell...) I decided I would try out debossing with Harvest Berries this weekend. I will not tell you that it took several times to figure this out, as the die is the old style and has two cuts in it.  Plan B.  I placed my stamps to match the die cut before stamping on one larger block.  It worked!

I used New Leaf, Berry Sorbet and Enchanted Evening.  The colors are fresh and springy together.  Fast, (well after I took the guesswork out for you!..).

Have a great day!

Baby Quilt

I am having so much fun with the Modern Cross coverplate!  It brings back memories of my quilting days...

This was quick and easy too!

I'm looking forward to making more...

Make it Monday Debossing

I actually made my Make it Monday card on a Monday!  I would love to have every Monday off to play!  After running around this morning, I spent the afternoon in my craft area.  Love when I can do that!  I watched Dawn's tutorial, and now I this I need those butterflies....  I did make my card like her other sample, using Modern Cross Quilt stamps and Coverplate.  I also chose one of the trendy color combinations from this week's blog hop contest.  I loved reading everyone's color ideas!  Yellow and gray was mentioned several times...

I also used two of my Boutique Border sets, Congrats and Thanks.  This was tricky, but the end result was reall cool.

Thanks for coming by!

Scribble Birthday

This weekend, I finally used some of the new scribble items.  They've been sitting on my "to play with" pile, and I've still got to give the stamps a little ink!  But for this card I chose a little tone on tone for texture.

I've used Aqua Mist and Raspberry Fizz with some Kaisercraft Rhinestones for sparkle.  Hope you're having a great Memorial Day!

May PTI Blog Hop

This month we have been challenged to use Aqua Mist and Melon Berrry on our project.  These colors are just so pretty together!  I really wanted to use flowers on my card, and PTI has a plethora of them!  I chose to do tulips, inspired by the photo, and my recent trip to Holland.  They are my favorite flower of all!

I used copic markers to color them, and added a layer of Melon Berry Bitty Dot, pleased an an Aqua Mist card base.  The sentiment is from Wet Paint III.

Just so sweet and fresh!  Wish the season lasted a little longer...

Enjoy the rest of the hop today!

Looks like Granny's wallpaper!

I really loved Betsy's watercolor technique this week. I finished and didn't want to cover it up with a sentiment! It reminds me of an old fashioned wallpaper.

I used Delightful Dahlias, stamping all three parts, and then using my Aquapainter to blend them. I used a piece of Sweet Blush for my card base and added just a skinny strip of ribbon.

Love to watercolor, so I will use this technique again!!

Thanks for looking!

Piper n Stripes!

Cased this card from inspiration files from PTI.  I loved the colors, and used them with my diagonal plate.  I added the little doggie, because this is for my daughter and she has a little cutie schnauzer named Piper.  She'll love it!

She and her husband are getting ready for a big move, and have had a few bumps in the road. ( like their car being stolen!)  We are practicing giving thanks in ALL circumstances!

Have a great week,

Happy Birthday Candles

Last night I had a brainstorm, to make this Birthday card.  I was glad I had a few minutes to actually make it, instead of just thinking about it!

It went together quickly, using this weeks MIM technique.  I also pulled out the wonderful button dies for a final accent.

Have a great day!

Thank you cards

I celebrated my birthday this week, and have a lot of thank you cards to make!  So this morning I had a chance to make a couple just for me to use!

For the first one I used Stitches and Swirls.  I love these stamps, and haven't used them since I first got them.  I pulled out a sketch and color recipe to help put this together.

Next up, I made another cluster stamping card for this week's Make it Monday.  I won't tell you that this was my third try with this color scheme.  I had a little trouble the smearing, while wiping off the embossed letters. I finally realized I needed to blot with the orange and red inks!

I added a little button accent made with the button dies.  I love how they add without adding bulk for mailing!!

That's it for now.  Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Hilary!

My stepdaughter's birthday is coming up quickly, and I thought she might like a bicycle card this year. Makes me thing of spring, even though summer is just around the corner!

I love the little doggie peeking out of the basket!  What a fun set to work with!

The bike and card base are Winter Wisteria, and the print paper from Kaisercraft.

Have a great weekend!

Make it Monday Cluster Stamping

In this week's Make it Monday, Heather showed us how to make magic with cluster stamping.  It was a fun way to use some of our smaller stamps with a larger sentiment embossed with clear EP.  I used Wet Paint and the small Hexigon stamps to create my card.

My colors are Winter Wisteria, Royal Velvet, Blueberry Sky and Spring Rain.  Tons of fun, give it a try!

Sunday Fun

This afternoon I had time to make another Make it Monday envelope and card. I love how easy these are to add and make your card special!

I used the new Botanical Blocks for my card, and then I pulled out Simple Sunflowers to decorate my envelope. They really compliment one another. I used my sticker machine for the flap, to make it more mailable, as Danielle suggested. I really like how the water coloring added to this one!

Here is a close up of the envelope.

Hope you've had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

Wishing all my Blog friends a Happy Mother's Day today!  Whether you are a mom or have one, enjoy memories today as we celebrate the Moms in our lives!

On another note, here are two shots of our wonderful vacation. They are the views from our hotel porch in Nice on the French Riveria!  It was fabulous!

Again, Have a spectacular Mother's Day!

Taking the Dare

Hi there!  Finally was able to put a card together today, while taking the May Diva Dare of "petals & wings".  I was asked the make an encouragement card, and pulled out Blue Skies for the perfect sentiments!  Bonus...the wings are right there too!  My flowers, stamped on the light green panel, are from Joyful Blooms.  I'm not sure this set had ever seen ink, shame on me!

The print paper is from We R Memory Keepers, called Anthologie.  They were perfect for this weeks Color Throwdown challenge as well.

Thanks for coming by!

Make it Monday #163

I had a little time today to get Stampy!  It's hard to get settled after traveling, but I had a shorter day at work today, and thought I could use a little inky time...  I first watched Danielle's video. Such a fun way to finish off a card!

Of course I had to make a card to go with it!  The stamps used are from Natural Beauties, Half & Half and Background Basic Postmarks.  My coworkers may notice some Ocean Tide fingers tomorrow, as I made some paintbrush splats too!

This will be a hand delivered card, as I couldn't resist adding the sentiment to the outside! The colors are sweet blush, hibiscus burst, raspberry fizz, ocean tides and dark chocolate.

Thanks for stopping by!

Today a few pictures from the fabulous Rijksmuseum. It was full of Dutch history and fabulous Artisans.

A beautiful collection of Delft hand painted pottery

Wonderful art from Rembrandt

He actually painted himself into this one!

And even history from the Holocost....

This was heartbreaking.

Lots more, but these were a few of the highlights.

One more from the Gardens at Kuekenhof.....!

This one is from the building full of orchids! That's all for now!

King's Day!

When we first arrived in Amsterdam, it was a huge national holiday called King's Day. Everyone from Holland comes to Amsterdam, and you wear "orange", the countries color.  Wall to wall people, and many of them celebrating on boats in the canals through out the city.

Some of them were pretty rambunctious...!

Here is a little picture of us, notice the sweater color?  I am half Dutch you know!

One of my favorite finds among the street vendors, caramel waffle treats!  Yum!

Some were dipped in chocolate too!

More tomorrow...

Keukenhof Gardens

Today I'm going to share a few photos (of the +100)! That I took at Kuekenhof Gardens in the Netherlands. Honestly, I could not stop photographing the millions of blooms there! I know I'll find much inspiration in the future and I highly recommend visiting there if you ever have the opportunity. It definitely was one of the highlights of our trip!  (Dawn McVey, you would love this place, so I thought if you while I was there!!)

Unbelievable beauty!

Also, I had the opportunity to meet a friend from the PTI Forum, Hanne, while we were there! It was great to learn about her life in Holland, and to see pictures of her darling little one!  The time just flew by...

How cool is that??

Thanks for letting me share a little of our fun adventure! I hope to share a few highlights over the next few days as we get settled at home.
