April Blog Hop

What wonderful inspiration for today's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  It's all about embroidery, and even though I have the wonderful set, Embroidered Blooms, I decided to work with colored embossing powders.

I was immediately drawn to the photo in the top left corner.  I always love black and red together and I thought of the stamp set from Stamp-a-Faire last year called, Reason to Smile.  At first, I tried to use embossing powder for the red blooms but it didn't work well on the black card stock. So I changed my flowers to white daisies and added the red with the ribbon and card stock.

I think it's a pretty cheery finished product.

I'm heading to Holland and France tonight.  An early, special Wedding Anniversary get-away!  I'm even taking a package of goodies to a fellow PTI follower, Hanne!  Can't wait. :-)

Enjoy the rest of the Blog Hop, and thank you for stopping by!

Make it Monday All Stars

As soon as I watched this weeks Make it Monday, I knew it would be perfect for the birthday card I needed to make for me grandson!  For my artistic panel with water splotches, I used Enchanted Evening, Blueberry Sky and Spring Rain.  Then I cut it out with the Stars Coverplate.  I also cut a strip of the stars out of Soft Stone that had been run through my sticker machine.  Then I dipped the sticky side into white glitter.  I just used a few of them, placing them to accent the splotches.  The card base is Pure Poppy, and the stamps are all from 7th Inning Stretch.

How cool did this work out!!  Thanks Nicole for an awesome technique!

Make it Monday Fun!

I went a little colorful for this weeks Make it Monday.  I love the way Erin showed us how to emboss, and then die cut!  This will be SO helpful for those little and intricate dies!

I used Fancy Folk Art, first embossing with lime green Zing EP onto Berry Sorbet cardstock, and then stamping with Berry Sorbet ink.  It was so simple to cut it out afterwards!  Thank you Erin!

Happy hump day!

Mother's Day Quilt

One of the things I love about this week's Make it Monday, is the ability to use small pieces of favorite paper scraps.  This card has colors that I love together, and I will be sad when they are all gone!  I can't bear to throw any out!!

Aren't they pretty? I made a one layer card with Aqua Mist.  The ribbon is Royal Velvet and the sentiment is from Happy Day.  I think this will go to my wonderful Mother in Law.

Have a great day!

Baby Quilt

Today I have two challenges in one.  This is for this weeks color throwdown of soft sky, barely banana, and pistachio pudding.

Looking like Easter, but I chose to make a baby card, and used this weeks Make it Monday challenge of a quilted card!

I even used a Kraft card base, because I liked the little nest in the photo too.  I think this would be perfect for a baby boy or girl.  Thanks for coming by.....

Color Throwdown

Loved these fun, fresh colors!

So I played along and may just have to play again!

The basket of daisies are so fresh for Spring. Vintage Picnic was one of my first sets from PTI, and is still a favorite.

Here's to Springtime!!!

Easter Greetings x 3

Making up some Easter cards this weekend!  I used the Carton Cuties set from Reverse Confetti. (that little carton for the eggs cracked me up. :). Using some older papers from Basic Grey (Two Scoops), I made these three...

I made the grandchildren's cards as well, so I'll post those soon.  Hope you've had a nice weekend too!

Meadow Greens

I have another watercolored Make it Monday to share.  It is so fun to use those crayons again!

For this card, I used Meadow Greens.  A great setting for another sympathy card.  The card base is one of my last pieces of Autumn Rose!  (note to self - put on my supply list..)

Thanks for looking!

Make it Monday Love

Thank you, thank you, thank you Heather, for helping me breathe new life into some ancient watercolor crayons!!  I just love how this worked, and I have to say, had never tried this technique.  (I had to hunt for those crayons too!)

I found myself low on sympathy cards, and this technique worked beautifully for a soft card.  The colors are Melon Berry and Berry Sorbet.  Mums the Word stamps were used, and I cut just one flower and two leaves to add a little dimension, without loosing the look of watercoloring.  I will be making another one of these!

Thanks for looking!
