Color Throwdown Watercolor

Today I played with this week's Color Throwdown challenge.  These were such soft pretty colors!

I used my markers and aquapainter to color my blooms.

The bow was made with seam binding from Verve.  I've also made this for today's Featured Stamper on SCS.

Have a great week all....

Inspired Bold Blooms

This is a card I made for an inspiration challenge on SCS.  It was a menswear site, and I chose this photo.

I loved the bold graphic lines of gray, and the rich deep pink (now that I look at it again, it's almost red, but raspberry fizz is what I saw!)

Here's what I came up with,

This is the first time I've used Inside Out Thank You.  Isn't that an awesome sentiment? Love it.

Enjoy your day!

Happiest

Trying out the vellum layering again today, along with a little pocket inspired by Melissa.  It's not exactly how she made hers, but I played around with the papers until I liked how it looked.

I really love how the vellum worked with these great papers from Little Yellow Bicycle (also an inspired purchase from Melissa!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Vellum for the 4th

Gave this weeks Make it Monday a try tonight. I used vellum to cover my small mason jar. I'm not sure how much I like it, as it takes some detail and shine away from the stars inside, but I do like how the embossing powder worked! I added a little clear spica glitter pen touches on top, but you can't see them very well....

This will be sent to my Mother in Law in Florida. We will get to visit her in July, but after the red, white and blue celebrations!

Thanks for looking!

June PTI Blog Hop

It's time for Papertrey Ink's monthly Blog Hop!  For June, we were challenged with an inspiration photo, with some color recipies and layouts.  You could work with any one or all the choices.  I decided to play with the colors and some of my new products.

Here is the palette I chose,

And...I made a shaker card!  I had tried one several years ago, and seeing all the fun inspiration out there, wanted to give it a try.

I think it'll work!  Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy all the projects from the hop!

Shells

I'm putting together a set of cards for my sister-in-laws, and today I added this one to the set...

We will be seeing them in July for a reunion at Siesta Key Beach, so I wanted to include something with shells.  I had fun playing with a product called mud puddles, that looks like sand.  I had purchased it a long time ago and it had dried up a little. But I broke it up and used some flower soft glue to adhere it.  Turned out okay!

For Lori

My sweet stepmom is celebrating her birthday this week. I made this for her, using Gatsby Glamour and Delightful Dalhias. I've not made cards without green leaves, so using the Soft Stone was something new!  I love the softness of it. Hope she likes it!

I've also made some cards using the Sweet Sunday Sketch for this week,

It worked perfectly for my first card using Bowl of Sunshine...

I love how it came together!  Now, I'm off to make something for tomorrow's Blog Hop!  See you then..

Balloons & Clouds

I've had these hot air balloons sitting on my desk for weeks!  So when SCS challenged us to use clouds on a card, I put them to use!

I still love this older set from PTI!  Enjoy your Saturday!

Make it Monday

Using my plaid impression plate, I went for a look of a trellis for my Make it Monday card this week. After embossing, I used different shades if blue and even a little lavender chalk and applied them with my finger. I started with the leaves from Turning a New Leaf, and then used flowers from Natural Beauties. I filled in a little more with the leaves from that set, after the flowers were stamped.

The sentiment was put on a Half & Half die, along with a few flourishes.  Such a lovely technique to try!

Just playing!

Did a little stamping just for fun!   No contests, hops or needs...   This is the result,

LoveTropical Teal, it just might be my favorite color.  I've paired it up with Summer Sunrise, using Scribble Circles and Splat.  Yeah, just for fun!

Make it Monday - Baby Wipe Stamping

Well, I don't have a baby like Ashley, so I used a Target wipe to give this technique a try!  And... I have a very limited supply of re-inkers, so I chose Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist, and Melon Berry for my colors. The wipes worked just fine, and I ended up making three cards, not just one!  I used the inspiration from Dawn's post this week to make all my cards the same to make up a quick and fun gift set.

Once I had the little assembly-line going, I made these three in about an hour.  I'm going to use one of the plastic containers that our stamps come in, and give it to one of my sister-in-law's on when we see her on vacation next month.

Loved trying these ideas out!

Have a great weekend!

Make it Monday note pad

Not having any kids in school anymore, I chose to make a notepad for a coworker whose last day is coming up soon. Working with the Happy Trails set, was fast and easy!  The themes of pencils and pens were perfect for the inside of my pad. I used Spring Moss, Canyon Clay, and Summer Sunrise.  The print is from the First Fruits pattern paper pack.

Here are my inside looks

She will love this little parting gift!  Thanks to Erin for her great tutorial!

Soaring

I have Feather Finery on loan from my buddy PJ, and am really enjoying it!  I made this as an Anniversary card, and for the new color throwdown challenge of Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo  and Bravo Burgandy (I had to substitute with Scarlet Jewel.)

The Dream Catcher look was from the PTI design team, so credit goes to them for the inspiration..

A circle card..finally!

I've been talking about using the Scribble Circles set, and finally made one over the weekend.  Just a quick and simple friendship card with some of my favorite colors.

It pairs up with The Splat set so well!

Smile everyone, and have a great week!
