Hope you've had a blessed Christmas with family and friends. We are currently with my children and their families. Before we headed their way, I made a special Christmas card for my Mother in Law, and used this month's inspiration from Papertrey to create it.

I finally had a few minutes to watch Ashley's Make it Monday this afternoon! I don't use felt very often, so it was really inspiring! Here is my take on it...

Couldn't wait to make another card with this set!
I used Blueberry Sky and Spring Rain for my Stamping. The snowflake was cut from the Luxe Silver cardstock. I'll probably have to make another one with the cutouts! Love this set!
It's going to be 72 in Lexington this weekend. Maybe making snowflakes will help this Michigan girl remember this is the Christmas season!

Well, I have most of my Christmas cards ready, so this afternoon I decided to pull out some newer products I hadn't played with yet for Make it Monday. I'm loving the new Quilted Winter snowflake, and by using the Misti to stamp, I was able to stamp perfectly onto a background square, and then add the die cut right on top. My spattering is on the background, that I cut out with the stitched retangle. I love how the green of the card base peeks through (it my first use of Vintage Jadette!)

After being gone for a week to visit parents in Florida, I took a few minutes to work at my craft table. It was a wonderful visit with both my dad and his wife in Cape Canaveral, and my mother in law in Sarasota. The time flew by, and I'm not really wanting to go back to work tomorrow! Anyway, this afternoon's creative time produced a Make it Monday card, that I will send off to Flordia...
I used a SAF set from a few years ago, Filled with Joy. And the sentiment is from Scripted. I realize I need to re-ink my Fresh Snow pad, as it took several passes to get that white stamped! (Gotta love a Misti for that!) I've added a silver thread nest behind the sentiment, and some sparkle to the tiny flowers.
Thanks for looking, hope you've had a great weekend.

I want to make more of these! What a fun technique! I went for blues and greens, and put it into a Christmas card...
So there is no sentiment yet, as PTI may be bringing me a new die to use on the front!!!
The colors are Enchanted Evening and New Leaf, with Blueberry Sky for the berries. I accented those with some glossy accent.
Try this out! Lots of fun!!
Had to share my updated version, as the die I wanted to use was not in stock yet. I used an older sentiment, embossed with silver EP on vellum. I love that you can still see the watercolored BG. ;)

Two cards to share today, using the wonderful Quilted Fall stamps and dies. I was inspired by this card from Melis.

I have done some quilting in the past, so I had plenty of fabric in my stash to choose from to make this week's challenge! And, a large grouping of them were Christmas prints - even better! I started my strips on a small wooden dowel, and decided it was too heavy for my card. After thinking about it for a while, I came up with using a pipe cleaner. I was even able to slide them off the dowel and right on to the pipe cleaner. Then I used a piece if sticky strip down the back to attach it to the card base. The tree stand was made with one of the pots from Petite Pots, cut and stamped with Autumn Rose to pick up the color in one of the fabrics.

I spent some time this week before work, cutting and stamping a bunch of Pettite Pots and plants. I have come to just love this set! It was really easy to put them together this afternoon...

This week I'm playing with the color Throwdown challenge again!
I love this great inspiration, and I actually made two cards.
For this first one, I created a plaid background as my staring point...
I wanted a couple of masculine birthday cards, so I pulled out my favorite masculine set right now called Guiding Light.
It was fun to try this out with the non traditional colors of Aqua Mist, Canyon Clay and Smokey Slate (from SU).
Thanks for looking, wishing you a great week ahead!

Taking the Making it Monday challenge to task today... Lizzie had great instructions, and putting this together was really fun!
I used a phrase from Scripted Sentiments, and the mask was made with one of the Keep it Simple Frames. The Spray of Flowers is from Quilted Spring, and my colors are Winter Wisteria, Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal. Here's a close up of the shimmer...
Don't usually make cards with a lot of white space, but the shimmer from the Perfect Pearls was all it needed to "shine"! I finished it off with a tiny pearl in the center of the flower.
Thanks for stopping by!

Awesome inspiration photo this month!
I couldn't wait to try out my new PTI products. Defiantly a way to start off my Christmas card making!

My focal cluster got a little bigger than I thought, but what a fun technique! I used Latte Love for my images, and they are stamped with Black, Pure Poppy and Raspberry Fizz. I used Copics to color parts of the cups, and added a few touches of a white gel pen. Thanks for a great challenge Lexi!

I was very inspired by this post from Melis...
I used the only Botanical Blocks I have, and ended up making two cards.
This first one is my favorite, but I haven't quite mastered the more washed look. But I like the finished card, and even added one of her "junk" bows!
I'd like to add some seed beads or brown glitter to the center of this next one.
The center is a little messy, and I think adding that touch might help. But how gorgeous is Melissa's card?? So amazing to be able to see and give it a try!
Thanks for looking!

I put together a card for this week's Make it Monday, incorporating stripes on your card. I used my Plaid Builder set to make stripes as a base for my coffee cup.

Today is the day for the September PTI Blog Hop! We were all inspired by this beautiful Fall photo
Here is my take on it...
I love this new sentiment set from Melissa! It fit perfectly into the Luggage Tag, designed by Dawn. And, I used Betsy's chalkboard technique, and Heather's Rustic Wreath stamp and die.
Sadly, I broke my Vagabond on this. :( I had the wrong plates to emboss the Picnic Plaid onto the Smokey Shadow background. Maybe Santa will come a little early this year!?!

I took a break this afternoon to try my hand at this week's Make it Monday. I had this bookmark die cut on hand for a while, and decided to use it! I made my flowers like Betsy's when they revisited Flower Favorites, such a pretty look! I then used strips of Limaide Ice and Raspberry Fizz down the side, and my pocket is Sweet Blush, stamped with the older Gingham Background Basics set. The sentiment is from Scripted Sentiments.

I've always loved stick pins in a card, but was never really sure how to do it. I'm so glad Melis gave us some helpful ways to attach them. I made one of her fun "junk" bows to add mine.

All good things must come to an end. I had a great time creating with everyone, even though this was the first year a stamped alone! It's been a blast! Here are the projects I finished. The necklace is still a work in progress, haha!
I am so happy I pulled this awful card for a makeover! It's always bothered me, and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner.
Ugh. The flower was so big and overwhelming, and did I really like that New Leaf ribbon? Yikes! When I pulled the monstrosity off, there was a lot of paper stuck down, so I opted to cover the majority of the Lemon Tart base with papers from Nostalgic Notions. Already it was looking better!
Then I took the small limitless layer dies to make a focal point. I added some posies from BITTY BOUQUETS, and a cute TINIER TAG with some red Bakers Twine.
Quite happy with the Making it Work on this one!
This was so much fun! I loved all the inspiration!! I finally settled on this one from Dawn...
Love the set from Heather called STAMPED & STITCHED. I pulled it out for my challenge card. (I do hope to make one with the stick pins too!) I used one of Betsy's paper combinations for this. These are colors I wouldn't normally use, but I loved them! I embossed the blanket stitches using Autumn Rose and Versamark. The box has yellow embossed stitches using Zing Butter EP.
I had to give Dawn's challenge a try! I'm all about the Greens and Blues! So her challenge to add a color combo you wouldn't normally use? Well, I gave it a try. I dislike orange. Rarely use it on cards, except for Halloween! Melon Berry included. So after looking at my options, I went for New Leaf, Hawaiian Shores and the not so favorite, Melon Berry.
I started with the favorites, by watercoloring a background with the green and turquoise. (Thanks for that tutorial Dawn, I have a new love for my Zigs!). I cut and stamped the blooms with the dreaded Melon Berry. After adding the Hawaiian Shores stems from Turning a New Leaf, I place the flowers and leaves how I liked them. Then I added some Aqua Rhinestones to the centers of the flowers.
I guess it's all right. Still not a fan of orange! ;-)
When I first saw we needed hardware supplies, I thought, well I can just pull out something from my hubby's stash! However, I had to just go "look" at Home Depot on lunch Friday, and found much more interesting items to play with! I didn't use everything I purchased, so I was all in on this card for about $3.50.
Here's my creation.....!
I little rad for me, but I liked how it came together. The main items are the Neon Key ID Bands. They fit around the circles cover plate die perfectly. The clear globs are the Vinyl Bumpers.
Fun for a young guy's birthday card! I will use those sticky numbers too. I have lots of friends turning 60 this year!
Thanks for looking!

I love to mix patterned papers, however, if they don't come in a collection, I hesitate! I love the way the papers in the kit were so different, yet mixed so well. My eye was drawn to the dark blue print, so I started with that piece.
So, I really, really wanted to use Hibiscus Burst for my ribbon. Seeing that I have none, I took some pale pink seam binding, and ran my ink pad over it. Have you ever done that? It seems to have worked, so hopefully it won't get wet and smear all over the place!
So I'm done posting for today. I have all my hardware out and ready to go for tomorrow.....;-)
I had to make a card based on Danielle's great ideas for Bakers Tine. I'm a big fan!
So taking a break from the felt necklace project, I made this...
I had never made a "nest" of thread, so this card used Laura's technique today. I went right for SONGBIRDS, a set that I love, but haven't used enough!
I mad a background with the music staff in red. The leaves are Kraft Bitty Dot, so the gold thread looked better for my nest. I added a small Kaisercraft pearl for the birds eye. The bottom edge was cut with the waves staff die, and I chose to balance it out with a strip of the bitty dot.
Off to have a little lunch now. See you this afternoon!
So hard to choose which pattern today! I really loved them all. I finally went with Danielle 's, thinking it would work well for a Sympathy card. (I have an order for 12 right now!). I used WORDS OF COMFORT and BITTY BOUQUETS to make my card, based on this sketch.
