Quick Leftover Card

I had this pretty butterfly left from last week's PTI Blog Hop, and thought I'd add some of the papers from the collection, and whip up a card...

I added the sentiment from Gracious Greetings, which was embossed the gold embossing powder.

Love how it turned out!

Today is the day we get to hop along with PTI for July!  Here is the pretty photo that we used for inspiration...

There were so many ways to go with this great picture, and I decided to zero in on the single butterfly in the lower right corner.  I loved how it was framed out, with the subtle print in the background.

I used every day photofinishers for my sentiment and then embossed with gold embossing powder. I also took the edges of the butterfly with the embossing powder just to give it a little pop.

This card will go to my dad and his wife because they are celebrating their anniversary next week. Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of the hop!

So...I gave this technique a try.  However, I had two failures.  I think it could have been that I purchased "store brand" labels, instead of Avery.  But, I was able to creat two great cards, in spite of the bleeding under my labels!  This first one, I just stamped my sentiment (birthday), right where it was supposed to be, but in white...

I used my water brush on the poppies as well, to make them look more like watercoloring.

This next one I thought for sure would work.  After making sure it was dry, I pulled it off to find it had bled underneath in multiple places again!  So, I just took the die again, cut out the space where it was supposed to be, and filled it in with a plain cut!  Ha! So, it looks like it, but I was a little sneaky!!

Still useable, just done in my own way! LOL!

Hope you've been successful in your attempts. ;). Thanks for taking a look....

Make It Monday #217: Creating Your Own Custom Borders

Got to finish my MIM card tonight!  IT was fun to find a set of stamps I haven't used for a while (lovely Layers) to make my card this week!

This will be for my son and his wife for their upcoming celebration.  I found my color scheme from one of Dawn's gorgeous cards, so fun and cheery!

Thanks for looking!

Inspiration Challenge #500

Today it is the 500th challenge on Splitcoast Stampers "Inspiration Challenge"!  While I don't always have time to play, the site chosen to inspire us was so fabulous, I spent a looooooong time pinning ideas first!  I went with this photo for my card.

I think it reminded me of the china I chose as a young bride way back in 1975.  So brides still pick china patterns? My sits in a pretty cupboard in my dining area!  Anyway, this is my card...

I had purchased these pretty Parisian Blue papers recently.  And the Bitty Bouquets worked well across the focal point.

Lastly, another sheet of paper to line the envelope!

Now go find your inspiration at

You will love it!

And Happy 4th of July to my US friends!

Make It Monday #216: Adding Color to Cover Plates

This card came together quickly!  I had to really look at my coverplates to see what would work best, and finally chose the first one that wowed us all, Quatrefoil.  I picked my copics in the pink tones, as that seemed like my largest collection for the ombré look.  The base was done in aqua tones, my favorite!

After adhering them, I cut "Hugs" from some bitty dot paper and popped it up with skinny cuts of foam tape.  I used the double ended banners for the rest of the sentiment, and topped one off with a button and twine.
