Betsy's New Kit Inspiration!

So when I saw today's peeks of Betsy's new kit, I was inspire to pull out my SAF kits and play! I forgot about the cute papers that were included, so I used them to make several cards.  So fun!

I fussy cut the center image on this one. The sentiment is from 2012 Birthday Tags.

I cut a couple of pieces of the cute paper to make this.  The sentiment is from Boutique Borders.

This last one was just stamping, using Betsy's original design as a guide.  The bottom is some crocheted lace I had on hand, and I adhered it with some vellum tape!

Thanks so looking!  I think her new kit is just amazing!

May 2015 PTI Blog Hop

I love when the monthly hop falls near a weekend, so I have plenty of time to play along!  We had a photo to inspire us this month, full of color!

I immediately thought of Modern Cross, but wasn't sure how I could incorporate the colors. First I tried strips of color behind the die cut, which I liked, but in the end, I pulled out all my inks, and went to town.  I chose to use the same stamp for all the crosses. But I used the photo for placement of the different colors.

When it was done, I adhered it to a white card base.  Then I added the word diecuts, and topped it off with some clear dew drops.  Just a fun general birthday card to have on hand!

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of the hop!

Make it Monday Fussy Cutting

Well, I love my dies, but it was great to see tips from Ashley this week for fussy cutting things without a die.  It really helped!  I went to Pinterest for some inspiration, as I knew I wanted to use a sentiment from Fancy Folk Art for my card.

I found this beauty! I just loved the yellow background, and I used that for my starting point.

This is my finished card.  I used Copics to color the main image, instead of stamping, and the technique for cutting the sentiment worked perfectly!

Thanks for looking!

Make it Monday - Gelatos!

Finally gave in, and got my first set of gelatos this week. They were fun to play around with, and I'll now have to check out other ways to use them!  I thought the softness of the flowers were good for a Sympathy card. The linen is on soft stone with a few strips of patterned paper tucked into the side. I also stamped the smallest polka dot in soft stone over the whole card. Thanks for looking!

Make It Monday #210: Using Vellum To Soften Patterns

Wow! I loved the ideas Lizzie shared with us this week!  Not only do I love vellum, but what a great way to use some papers I fell I love with, but they were too busy or bold for a small card.  Yay!  I've had this pretty piece of paper for several years, and I love how well it worked with my Happy Birthday plate!

It worked so well, I may need to make two!  I've added just a touch of ribbon on the side for interest.  Can't wait to try some more ideas...!

Have a great weekend!
