April 2016 Blog Hop Challenge

Yes. This month was a challenge!  I'm not sure if it was the colors or contemporary feel of the photo, but I struggled with this one.  I wanted to used some color blending, so I started there, using Pure Poppy and Classic Kraft with a touch of Dark Chocolate. Then I added some Circle Scribbles, layering the colors till I was satisfied.  I added a Splat circle in Kraft, and it just looked to muddy.  So...I restamped in Versamark, and used white EP. Much better!  Then I machine stitched around the edges and finished it off with some white flat sequins.  It was all added to a white card base.

Can't wait to see what you came up with!

Happy Hopping!

Brushes with Color

You may realize, that my favorite challenges are Make it Monday and the Color Throwdown... This week, I was able to combine the two! The cheery colors for CTD of pink, orange and green were perfect for my pinwheels, and the breezy cool lettering from PTIs new Bold & Beautiful Sentiments, worked well for my Faux Brush Lettering.

I started with a stenciled background, and finished it off with a button. I'm already planning to sent this one out!  Have a great week!

Color Throwdown #388

This morning I got ready for work, and realized I went in an hour later today! Yay! It gave me a chance to play this week's Color Throwdown!

Isn't this the cutest picture ever? Makes me want to duplicate it in my home, not just on a card...  I had fun using my Quilted Summer stamps for this card. (They hadn't seen ink yet!)

I'm busy making Mother's Day cards right now, and these cheery colors worked perfectly.  Now I need to scoot for my real all have a great week!

Create Along With Us: April 2016

I fell in love with the softness of Ashley's butterfly card this month.

My first attempt was using butterflies as well, and I just wasn't happy with it. Since I needed a sympathy card, I used Meadow Greens and the sentiment from Painted Petals for my card.

Just clean and simple, which is what I prefer for sympathy cards.  I cut stencils from Cardstock, and I've decided the ones you can buy make it much easier!  Thanks for looking!

Edited to add my first card...

I tweaked it a little and I guess it's okay!

Thanks again!

Make It Monday #245: Color Isolation

I missed last week's Make it Monday challenge, cause work was a challenge... I was determined to fit this week's in, before we head to Mexico on Friday. (We are going to my stepdaughter's wedding at a resort in San Miguel!). Anyway, I was able to sneak a few minutes of crafty time tonight!

I chose Tea for Two and Tea for Two Additions for my card. The background is Fine Linen on Rustic White, and I used Vintage Jadette for my china.  About as clean and simple as I get!

Thanks for stopping by!
