Throwdown #394

I loved the cheery colors of this week's Color Throwdown.  I want have a piece of this sweet cake!

After a little bit of tweaking, I came up with this...

You can never have enough coffee, right?  Off to get more on this lovely day.

I chose to make my background as a strip of color.  Using Americana, Melon Berry and Classic Kraft, I used a long piece of painters tape, measuring 1/2" in and another one an inch over, to make my blended background. It worked perfectly for a silhouette background sympathy card.

The stamps are from Botanical Silhouettes.  I added a side of Rustic Twine to finish it..  I also made one in Amethyst Allure, Spring Rain and Blueberry Sky!

Quick with amazing results.

Hope your having a great weekend!

May PTI Blog Hop

Awesome inspiration this month!

I knew right away what I wanted to do. I took a piece of watercolor paper and made watercolored splotches of different hues, kind of following the arrangement in the photo. Once it was dry, I embossed silver dots, and then cut it out with the Bitty Butterflies coverplate.  I used a second white coverplate cut out, and attached it to Stormy Sea card base.  I then adhered the butterflies just in the center, so I could pop them out on the sides.  The sentiment is from Keep it Simple Birthday stamped in Stormy Sea, and I added some sequins for a finishing touch.

I love how this turned out! (Is that okay to say?)  Thanks for great inspiration this month! Enjoy hopping everyone!

Color Throwdown #393

Made a fast card for this week's Color Throwdown! Found myself in need of birthday cards, so this was what happened...

Here is the inspiration photo:

And my card:

I chose Soft Stone for my gray, and Sweet Blush and Hibiscus Burst for the blooms.  My sentiment is from Little Labels, an oldie, but a goodie that was the perfect size.

Thanks for looking!

Triple Thanks

Kept busy yesterday making thank you cards, for all the wonderful birthday gifts I received last week!  Can I just say, I love Maile's new Splits-Thank You set?? I'm going to whip up a few more this afternoon to have on hand!

It's a great set to use up some of the papers I've been hoarding too...

And one more with the great Friendship Flowers set, since I added the smaller pint jar in this last order.

Now I just need to get them written, and send them out!

Have a great week!

New Altenew!

I just got this new set from Altenew for my birthday, called Persian Motifs. It's perfect for watercoloring, so I gave it a go...

My co worker has a birthday tomorrow and she loves red. What do you think? I'm ready to try another one...

Happy Thursday, the weekend is near!

Just realized, I make lots of cards that never get posted...  Guess I just use my time to make more! But I always want to post my Make it Monday cards, as the challenges are so inspiring, and there's a chance to win too! Lizzie's challenge was that for sure, easy and simply stunning results!

I used my Mega Gracious Vases stamps. I thought of the beautiful red glassware that I've seen before. Then I looked for some simple blooms to fill a few, and the Petite Pots Anniversary set worked. I chose to create smaller blooms with a few of the smaller stamps. Then I finished my card with a Bold & Beautiful sentiment.

Hope you get a chance to play this week too!

Make It Monday #247: Watercolored Card Sets

Right now I'm waiting for the Kentucky Derby to come on! It's our state holiday you know... ;-)

Anyway, it gave me a minute to post the cards I made today.  I loved playing along with this week's Make it Monday, and I used colors from this week's Color Throwdown too.  Now I have a nice little set of cards to use as a gift for someone.

The colors are Hibiscus Burst, Harvest Gold, Orange Zest, Spring Rain and New Leaf. I also added some black Wink of Stella to the centers for a little sparkle!

Here is the whole set...

Now I want more watercoloring sheets!!

Don't miss the race, will we have another Triple Crown this year??

Lots of Mother's Day!

Yesterday was the Mother's Day card making day!  And I could not put down the new Friendship Jar Flowers set...  It was the perfect way to send mom flowers and good wishes!

I do think I'll get the smaller jar for these blooms, just for some variety.  And one more, using Quilted Summer, with the perfect sentiment from Quilter's Sampler.

I think I'm done. Thanks for stopping by!
