Thank You

Today I have a couple of thank you cards to share. I made eight of them yesterday, and these are two of my favorites!

The first one uses Warm Woolens. Oh how I love this cute set!  I think I made five of the eight with it! So fun to play with different colors and layouts!

And thin I pulled out Mix and Mat plaid, which I hadn’t used yet. I loved cutting it with a different color and putting that red cardinal as a focal point. I may need to make another one!

That’s it for now. Maybe I’ll get a chance to post some more before I mail them!

December Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hi! Hope you’ve had a blessed Christmas. I know I have! I was able to celebrate with my three children and their families over the weekend, which is one of the best gifts I could hope for.  Today has been quiet at home with my husband, and I had some stamping time. I have lots of new things to play with, (including the Travelers Journal Kit!) but I opted for a an older set that was closer to the inspiration photo.

So fresh and Springlike on this chilly day!  I started by making a sponged background with Spring Moss, Sweet Blush, and Lavender Moon. Using lots of layering, I stamped and popped up the wreath and flowers from Birds and Blooms.  I included some stamping right on the watercolor paper to extend the greenery.

I used some pink grosgrain ribbon and a little sparkle on a few of the flowers to finish it off.
Looking forward to seeing all the projects! Happy Hopping!!

Create-along-with-us December

I’m sure all of you are busy this time of year too, and there just isn’t time to craft! (Unless it’s a last minute card or tag!) Today, after I made one of those last minute cards...I decided to try the create along with us challenge too!  So many lovely projects this month! I decided to use Fresh Bouquet, as I patiently wait for my Farmers Market florals!

I always love Melissa’s pretty floral cards, and tried to capture some of her loveliness in this card.

Off to another work gathering with my hubby this afternoon.  I will definitely be dieting again soon...

This week Laurie challenged us to give layers some love. I usually try to keep my cards on the flat side for mailing, but this time I brought out the pop dots and dies. I also pulled out Spruce and Sprigs, what a great set!! It was fun to pair it up with Beautiful Berries Winter. I also pulled out my shabby green embossing powder!

Love pink and green together for a fun option for Christmas. The Pinefeather Bitty Big paper is one of my favorites!!

I made a photo ornament for my daughter that I will attach to her Christmas present this year. She lived in Austin for a couple of years and we were able to visit her. Look! It’s the same spot where Lexi’s daughters are! 😉

November PTI Blog Hop

It’s it’s that time of the month where all PTI crafters create something inspiring from a photo. This month it was a beautiful Thanksgiving photo, so of course I wanted to make a Thanksgiving Card!

I was inspired by the plaids, foliage, colors and texture from the photo, and this is what I created.

The top was created using Autumn Adornments and the sentiment was embossed in gold. The bottom is made from Autumn Pattern Pieces, such a fun set to play with!

And this card made its way to my sister and brother in law in sunny Florida, hopefully in time for Thanksgiving! Hope your Thanksgiving was blessed as well!

Enjoy the Hop!

Create along with us November

I can’t say there was one specific card that inspired me this month, but more the products! I love all the stencils we’re seeing, and the new cut away dies from Dawn!  My card uses products I already have to try and create like them.  I stenciled and cut a Boutique Borders die, and stamped through the cut using my Misti.

This card is going to work with my this morning, so all my coworkers can sign it. Our lovely boss is leaving us next week. I am so sad to see her go, but she has a sweet little girl that needs her Mommy a little more.  She loves pink, so Pale Peony was an easy choice to create a special card for her.

So excited for the release tonight! Off to create my shopping list now!

Happy Stamping!

More of Dawn

Good morning! I have another card to share today, using the beautiful stamps and dies of Dawn McVey.  If you haven’t had a chance to play along yet, the hop is going on until Saturday! So ink up some of her fabulous flowers or beautiful words and share them here...We Love Dawn!

My card today is a birthday card. I’ve loved the Boutique Borders series Dawn brought to us, and they are still a favorite!  I’ve also used Gran’s Garden, a set we all love. In the background you can see the awesome Coverup Quartefoil set as well.

Enjoy all the wonderful creations, and don’t forget to make one to share too!

Make it Monday #302: Twine & Ribbon Wraps

Saturday is my crafting day, so this morning I made this card for Make it Monday.  I loved Stephanie’s look with the Bitty Big Plaid, so I made one like it using Christmas colors.  I also took some inspiration from Betsy, using the stencil letter dies for the word “JOY”.  (I bought those on a whim, after seeing that Throwback post!). 😱😁

Thank you Stephanie, for your wonderful tutorial and design!

PS...are you all missing the Forum like I am?  Miss you guys!!

Celebrating Dawn!

I am so grateful to be sharing some love for Dawn McVey today! She is incredibly talented. But she is also a beautiful woman of God, and has faithfully gone through a difficult journey over the last few years. I want to thank her for sharing that journey with those of us in the paper crafting world. I hope she knows how encouraging her story has been for many of us! We are continuing in prayers for her, as she recovers from her transplanted intestine, and thank God for her testimony of faith!  You can find all of our posted projects, (using stamps and dies designed by her!) by following this link... We Love Dawn

Here’s my creation, using her favorite Raspberry Fizz color, and two of my favorite stamp sets from her,
Floral Sketches and It’s the Thought.

I had the privilege of seeing Dawn at the very first Stamp-a-Faire, and let me tell you, she is beautiful, inside and out!  Love you Dawn! I’m continuing to keep you and Bart in my thoughts and prayers!

Exploring my watercolor skills

Today I have a card that I was inspired to make after watching Yani’s watercoloring video. I love this technique, and want to get better!  So first I have the watercolor layer in the works...

I used my Gandai Tambi watercolors adding lots of the metallics. I can’t believe how much the silver made it pop. Usually I would have stuck to the bronze and gold with these autumn hues.

I knew this would be for my dad, so keeping it on the masculine side was important. I chose the fall Mix and Mat dies from Papertrey Ink. I love the added texture of those leaves!

Hope he likes it! He is an artist too, but has recently given it up. He is turning 91 this month!

Happy Fall Y’all!

Lots of stuff!

I’ve had time after work today, to finish up several cards I’ve been working on. A couple for challenges, and a few for fun!  First up is a card I made for this week’s Make it Monday.  I needed to add a baby cards to my stash, and I used Lizzie’s tutorial with Mat Stack 1. I think this would work for a boy or girl!

Next up is a card for the Color Throwdown. I loved the Autum hues this week!  I tried to used the border technique again, but wasn’t as happy with it, so I added an additional border, and have the glitter peeking through the edges.

Lastly, I tried out Ayana’s water coloring technique for a couple of Christmas cards of my own.  What a great tutorial she shared!

Now I’m taking a breat and watching a little college football.  Hope you’re having a crafty, relaxing weekend too!

October 2017 PTI Blog Hop

It’s time for the monthly blog hop, and I was so inspired this month, I made two cards! I loved the idea of using blues for a fall card, and pulled out my watercolor paints to get going.  This is our inspiration piece.

I used the bottom left clip for the challenge.

And card number two...

Sorry for the poor photos!  Enjoy the Hop!

Color Throwdown #465

I had one more Halloween card to make (for a grandson) and I saw these fun colors and thought they’d be perfect!

I used a mixture of stamp sets and dies for this. Purple is such a fun option from orange!

The ghosts were stamped on white, and I added a cut of vellum on top of them. They are attached just at the top for a little floating feel.  Thanks for great color choices this week!

Make It Monday #300: Build-a-wreath

How wonderful is Melissa Phillips? I just love this week’s Make it Monday, and couldn’t wait to play along.  I like to send my grandkids Halloween cards and tuck in a treat, but for my oldest granddaughter, I wanted to do something a little more grown up.

I used Autumn Adornments for my leaves, adding pumpkins and smaller green leaves. I used Tremendous Tags for my sentiment from Trick or Treat.  I think this will be sweet for my sweet Addison.

Thanks for a fabulous Make it Monday challenge!

Wonderland Fun

I’ve got some fun cards today, using the Wonderland kit. I had so much fun crafting with the girls during the FB live event, but had a chance to add some special touches when I got home.

Make it Monday and Color Throwdown

Trying out a new app today for blogging. It’s a work in progress to learn it, but hopefully it won’t crash!  This is a quick card I made this week after a mini vacation we took to New York City last week.  Had a wonderful time....

Till I can get crafting again......!

So today I wanted to get one more card made, before I have to pack up my crafting area! We are getting new hardwood flooring, so it all has to be moved in preparation...

I was very inspired by Lizzy's card today! I loved the plaid pop of color down the side.

So pretty! And although it's a Christmas card, I changed mine up a bit. Not quite ready to make Christmas yet!

I really wanted to try a butterfly in Monarch butterfly colors, so I used my copics to color different shades and lifted some white spots using the colorless blender. The body was covered with a black wink of Stella pen. I finished it off with a few raindrops.

Thanks for stopping by, can't wait for the full release !

Make It Monday #296: Small Images on Repeat

This was fun! I found a cute little bee in my Postmarks set, and knew exactly how I wanted to make this card! I don't so clean and simple much, but I loved this technique and will definitely do it again! Thank you Lexi!

I thought the "being there" sentiment fit those little bees so well! They are embossed in black, and the punch is a very old one from Creative Memories.  Yay for it all coming together!

Thanks for stopping by today! You've got to try this!

Monday Fun

Had some fun making cards on Labor Day. It as great to pull out some new stamps I haven't had time to use yet!

Gran' Garden! Why did I wait so long for this awesome set??

The butterfly is just fabulous from the Stamp a Faire event. I can't wait to try watercoloring this one.

Last one today is using the new Mix and Mat Die. I watercolor ed a base and included some shimmering watercolors, and they are super pretty in real life!

That's all for today! Thanks for stopping by!

One More

I was able to finish one more card tonight. This was using Rebecca's technique for making dipped leaves in our projects

I received my order from Friday and was able to use the Hey Stacks and new Canyon Clay paper on this card. That was great as I had used Canyon Clay on the leaves from Harvest Berries. The green leaves were dipped in an older color I had on hand.

I know who I'm going to send this to as well! Thanks again PTI for everything!!

II don't know about you, but I had a blast doing the projects for StampaFaire. I decided to post a few of my favorites since I used Instagram to upload them.

This was for the Warm up challenge. When I saw the stack of bowls in pretty colors, I thought of this stack of cups right away!

I didn't purchase any crinoline but used some fabric stash to make my flowers. Bonus, they had already been backed with interfacing which is something I like to do when using fabric on cards. I just love the navy and yellow together!

This is a second card I made using Ashley's leather technique. I know I will use the for many guy cards!

Even though this took a while to dry, I was amazed at how it worked! I think mine got a little thick, but it was so fun to do. I used Ombré Borders to create my texture lines in Terra-cotta Tile.

This is the last card I'm sharing today. I loved the messy silver flakes! And even though I used a container it was too small and I had silver everywhere! But how gorgeous is that silver with the purple? Might be my favorite!

So that's it for today, sorry it's so long. I made a few extra cards with my stamping buddy, PJ, so I'll share those soon.

Hope you had fun too!

Snuck in a card this month! I've had a busy week, but really wanted to try out some clear embossing paste that I was inspired to purchase  after seeing Dawn's awesome dot card!

Looking forward to having those new stencils!

August 2017 Inspiration Challenge

What a wonderful inspiration piece! I love how it's fall colors, but not traditional!

I chose watercoloring for my card. I just want to get better at this technique, and Altenew stamps offer great coloring choices for that.   I've used Peony Scrolls on this card.

One of the things I did, was emboss with two different gold embossing powders. If you look, the scrolls are more glittery than the flowers. I love the finished look. I used some splatters and sequins to finish it off!

Thanks for looking!

Good Morning!  Today I've got a card I made for two challenges!  This week's Make it Monday, and the Color Throwdown #453.  It was a great pairing of challenges!

You can find the ctd453 challenge  here,

Laurie gave three options for color blocking, and I chose to work with scrap papers., the bright colors paired nicely with my Some Like it Hot stamps. I topped it off with some fun new embellishments from Stamping up.

Love it when stuff comes together! Thanks for stopping by!

Soft blues and pretty blooms were in our inspiration this month.

I started by making a background with Faded Jeans distress ink. Then I hear embossed the leafy circle in Silver.

I added a few flowers and leaves and finished with some white seam binding. Love the sentiments in Pen and ink, and this one was added in navy ink.

Here is a closeup of the silver...

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the Hop!
