Laurie’s Fabulous Favorite- Tags!

I went right for my favorite tag, but goodness, I have quite a few that I love!  I most often put my tags onto a card, but today I have just a tag, and I do like how it turned out!

I stared by cutting the tag out, and then masking the edges. I then blended some Green Parakeet ink around the edges. I popped up my larger die cut, made from the Corner Adorner June stamps and dies. The sentiment is from a different Corner Adorner. Such a wonderful series!

That’s it! I’m off Saturday for a trip to visit my dad, and taking my daughter too!

Happy Mother’s Day to all!

Laurie’s Fabulous Favorites - Shaped cards

I needed a birthday card for my grandson... I ended up making my first z-fold card ever!
I fell in love with this one card from Stamping Starbucks Momma on Pinterest... I used the same stamps, and chose a primary color palette for him.  I went back to watch the Make it Monday video, which was super!  I plan to make more of them!!

It was so much easier than I thought it would be. Ashley’s instructions were so helpful.

This is the inside...

Think he’s going to love it.  Think I’ll try a garden themed Mother’s Day card next!

Laurie’s Fabulous Favorites - Coloring Technique

I had to choose. And it was hard!  I love to watercolor and use my Copic markers equally!  But I finally decided to use the copics for my card, because I’ve waterecolored this stamp set a lot, but never used my copics for it! Plus...I just purchased the dies to match after seeing the Saturday Showcase using them!

This is for a coworker that has his anniversary next month.  His wife always likes to have one that I’ve made. I’m thrilled to oblige, and this was a joy to make.

Maybe I’ll  need to even out my favorites and go make a watercolored one 😉

Laurie’s Fabulous Favorite - Style!

Choosing a favorite style for card making, changes for me sometime. I’ve always been drawn to the shabby chic look, but never felt like I pulled it off very well. I like the clean and simple look, but have a hard time pulling off all that white space. I want to put in a button or bow or something!  So after thinking about it for a while, I think I am very “tailored” in my creative style. I like things straight and organized. (no slants or crooked frames!). I am very drawn to Michelle’s style. I love her use of papers and just the right amount of products on her cards. So my card is styled after her Tuesday Transformation cards this week. I loved the three in a row look, so I hopped on that!

I am going to send this to my sweet mother in law. She has had a sweet beau in her life for over 10 years, and he passed away this week. At 95, she lives a full life, but I know his being gone will bring some loneliness for her. Thank you for stopping by today.

Our Favorite Inspiration Places!

I get inspiration from a lot of places, but the place I turn to most, is the designer made cards I’ve pinned on Pinterest.  I love how they encourage me to pull out stamps and ink, and create!  I chose this card from Betsy, as I spent today working on Easter cards.

This is what I made...

I also made some cards inspired by these, one was from dear Laurie!

Here are the ones I made....

These will go to my grandkids...ðŸĪ—

Sorry for the long post, it was a happy crafty day!

Way back in 2013...

I chose one of my all time favorite Make it Mondays, given to us by the wonderful Melissa Phillips. It was from May of 2013!! Her card has never left my mind, it was so special. You can find her card and tutorial with this link.

I kept a lot of Melissa’s design, but changed the papers and put it on a Shapeshifter die. I also used a vertical card diecut with scallops.

Fun to watch some older MIM.
Hard to pick a favorite, but this was mine.
Thanks for stopping by!

Laurie’s Fabulous Favorites - 2 PTI colors

So I’m here today with Laurie’s new challenge for Win it Wednesday! This week we could pick two PTI colors (more if you want) to create. For me, it’s a no brainer, I’m all about the greens and teals. You know how when you’re in a clothing store, and you head right too that color that grabs you? Always green or teal for me.  Here is my take on the challenge:

I’m enjoying my new Textile Impressions stamp set, and used it to create from the bottom up, some fun color and patterns. When I got about half way up, I added my sentiment in black. Then I added some stamped and cut palms from the Tropics collection. I love this card, and I’m sure it’s because the colors make me so happy! 😉

Another fun challenge and I can’t wait for the next one!!

Laurie’s Fabulous Favorites- Sentiments

Today I’m sharing card that uses a stamp that is from one of my favorite sentiment sets. There are actually two sets, Penned Elegance and Penned Elegance II. This beautiful font is the perfect size for many cards, and has quickly become my favorite. My card features the Many Thanks from Penned Elegance II.

I used Stitching Garden to create a background, using Lavender Moon, Autumn Rose, Ocean Tides and Pine Feather. The sentiment is embossed with white detail powder, as well as the frame from Stitch in Time Borders. Then I topped it off with some Pine Feather Bitty dot ribbon.

So, I updated this, after I posted it. I didn’t like how yellowy the vellum looked, so I simply added a diecut piece of Lavender Moon behind the vellum.

I like it better and you can see the sentiment more. Hey, a Transformation Tuesday too!

Have a great week friends!

Packaging Favorites for Win it Wednesday

This week is all about using our favorite packaging products. Well, I used this particular die to make 200 wedding favors for my Daughter’s wedding over four years ago!  We had fun making them and filled them with mints and placed them at the tables. They turned out so pretty! I’ve had other times I’ve made little packets for coworkers and left them at their desks. They are the perfect size for M&Ms, just sayin...!

I had an idea to make an Easter one, using Simple Spring Borders. I started with some Green Parakeet sponging and then stamped and colored the bunnies with Copic Markers, before assembling my pillow package.

I think this needs Jelly Belly’s inside, don’t you think??

Before you know it, Easter will be here!  Have a great weekend my stamping friends!

New Home Fun

Hi every!  Just a short post today to share a card I made yesterday. I made this for the Instagram challenge on Papertrey Ink’s Win it Wednesday. I have a young coworker moving this weekend in her very first apartment. She is super sweet, and we all wanted to do something special for her, so this will include a gift card to “at Home” which is next door to us. We thought she’ll be needing lots of little extras as she feathers her nest!

I really like the finished card, using Twig Wreath, On the Farm, and a Shapeshifter insert. The gingham is Harvest Gold.

Thanks for taking a look!

Laurie’s Fabulous Favorites Accessories!

This week we got to choose out favorite PTI accessory and use it on a card.  While I love putting buttons on cards, my favorite thing to use is Baker’s Twine.  Here, There and Everywhere!  Today I’ve used it to tie my tulips together.

And I also love using. Clear Spica Glitter pen, but I guess that’s not really an accessory,

Thank you for taking a look! Have a great week ahead!!

Laurie’s Fabulous Favorites Stand Alone Dies

When I thought of a stand alone die that I love, I immediately thought of dies that didn’t need a stamp to use.  I love Dawn’s new set of Delicate Dies.  But I decided to use Frame it Out Blessings die instead. This is a die I purchased without the stamps, and I love using it! It truly is a stand alone favorite of mine!

I chose yellows and grays for adding some Stitching Garden blooms for accents.  Gosh I love Weathervane with the yellows! (Lemon Tart and Bright Buttercup) I added some Nuvo Glitter drops for the flower centers.

Thanks for another Fabulous Favorites Challenge!

Fabulous Favorites Challenge - Favorite Cardstock Color

This week we’re picking our favorite color Cardstock.  I go in spurts with my favorite, but I always come back to Aqua Mist.  I love any aqua, green or blue! So I made my card with Aqua Mist and all those blues and greens I love!

I've used both Bitty Big Aqua Mist in the small stripes and the larger polka dot from the original pattered pack.  The stamp set is from the new Circle of Love stamp set.

So you know when you’re getting older, when you’ve posted the valentine for your Granddaughter on instagram, and she see’s and likes it already! Ha! So, back to the card making for me, because of course, she already saw it!  ðŸĪĢ❣️ So today I transformed that Valentine to a new one for her, and I’m posting it here, cause she doesn’t know about my blog...🙄

My first card...

She loves purple, so I kept purple as my mail color. I used a different die to put behind the heart, and used the Plaid Bitty Big paper instead of polka dots! I also added some sparkle to the flowers, cause things are always better with glitter!

Hope she doesn’t see this one until Thursday!

My Favorite!

Trying to choose a favorite PTI stamp set might just be impossible. I love all my flower sets, and they tend to change as a favorite every day!  I have a favorite Christmas set, Two Feet Deep, ⛄️ but I couldn’t bring myself to make a Christmas card right now...ðŸĪŠ

That still left so many wonderful sets I love to choose from. I will say however, that Pedal Pusher is right at the top of all time favorites. I love the fact that you can have wheels that move, and fill that sweet basket with such cute things! And the sentiments are super with a wonderful font as well. So it is the winner for me.

This card was made for my awesome son in law. He is an amazing Barber, and on March 1st he is opening his very own shop in Noblesville, Indiana! 💈  we are so proud of him, and are looking forward to more success in his young life.  (If you live in the area, check out Mammoth Barber Co.)

The little dog is my favorite part, as they don’t have children, just sweet little doggies.

It was great to pull out this favorite in the midst of a Valentine tornado! 😍

Thanks for stopping by!

This week we were challenged to use negative diecuts to create! I love this technique, and wanted to use this little teardrop die cut that I purchased to do just that!  I loved a card Meliss Phillips had made with it, and though I could have fun with it.  I think it makes great hearts for the upcoming holiday.

I kept it pretty simple, using just the Pure Poppy Bitty Big Polka dots and a shapeshifter border of hearts.

I topped it off with a little tag from the OX Mini stamp set.  Sweet and simple!

Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop

Good morning!  It’s pretty frigid here today! I’m off to work soon, but wanted to get my card posted this morning for this month’s hop.  I was inspired by the cool black and white patterns with a touch of gold for my card.

Of course I had to add some pretty flowers in pink and blue as well. These are from Orchid Expressions.

I placed my card front on a Spring Rain card base, which is a cool way to make the inside fun too...

Enjoy the Hop today, hope it’s not too cold in your neck of the woods!

I didn’t need to go back far to choose ancard to recreate this week. Yesterday I made a card using the new Let’s Fiesta stamps. It was very colorful, but I really liked the white space on Michelle’s card, and wanted to try that with my basket of blooms.

Old card:

New More White Space Card:

This time I used Bold Borders Polka Dots and a sentiment fro Words to Live by: Smile. I used Copic Markers in rainbow colors on my white card stock and then diecut “Smile” out.

I know I’m going to love this set. So versatile!

Make it Monday #348 Lotsa Letters

Today was a holiday for me, so I took some time this afternoon to use some new things and play along with Make it Monday.  It seems I don’t have single die letters, so I pulled out “Happy Birthday “ words. To up my game a bit, I used white card stock and sponged my ink on, with Raspberry Fizz and Hibiscus Burst. I cut them a second time with plain white and used my sticker machine to help layer the letters off set a bit.

I knew I was going to love Let’s Fiesta, just because it gets me using some bright, fun colors. I’m looking forward to trying out the pinwheels and rug next.!

Make it Monday #347: Winter Watercolor

I have today off, and with three birthdays next week, I needed to get another card made.  This challenge was perfect to make a more masculine card for my son in law.  I paired it with Fence Line Winter.

I kept it on the simple side. I have a tendency to overwork cards and then not liking them.
Thanks for a great challenge Ashley!

Today I’m sharing a Transformation of my Christmas Thank You card for the a-la-carte Make it Monday. I had such fun using Laurie’s Shadowed Backgrounds technique, I wanted to make a non-Christmas colored card!

From this...

To this....

I used some “new for me” dies for the Friends Til the End stamp set.  Such a fun flower to color for copic markers!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week’s challenge is a La Carte! So many wonderful tutorials to pick from! I went with one I couldn’t participate in from Laurie Schmidlin, #328, called Creating Shadowed Backgrounds.  I still needed a Christmas Thank You Card, so I made this one...

I loved stamping on Weathervane, and used Pure Poppy to make it pop. This was really a fun card to make, and may try something a little Springy to make another one!

Thank you to the whole Papertrey Ink gals for a wonderful year of challenges! You’re the best!

It’s time for the monthly Blog Hop at Papertrey Ink!
A beautiful inspiration photo this month, as we look forward to crafting valentines soon!

Lace and flowers with a sweet background too!
I started my card using that background as my springboard...

I used Rosy Posey and Twig Wreath for an all over background. Then I added the die cut and placed some Pale Peony card stock behind it. The sentiment was stamped with Prarie Grass, and a few flowers were added as well. Then I put it on a Kraft cardbase to reflect the embroidery hoop.

Whipping out thanks you cards right now, for the lovely gifts and kindness we received this Christmas.  Hope your Christmas was filled with blessings too!

Saturday, December 22, 2018

Back with my second card today!  I chose to transform a card I made for a SAF a year or so ago, and make one for a Christmas Thank You card.  This was fun to do, as I liked the first card, but wanted a more Christmasy look.

My old card:

And the new one:

I really Like how this second one turned out! Fresh Bouquet was the perfect set to use with colors that complimented the plaid.

Thanks for stopping by!

Today is my first day off for Christmas, and so I plan to get some major stamping time in!  I started this morning (in my jammies!), with this week’s Make it Monday.  In looking through my sentiments, I found a great one in Daydreamer to use. Once it was on my desk, I couldn’t help but use the pretty flowers too!

I stamped my sentiment in Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal. And one of my all time favorite color combination is Aqua and Purple, so my blooms were stamped with Winter Wisteria.

Better go get dressed before I stamp some more! Hope you have a good weekend and aren’t too stressed with celebrating Christmas.
